I was convinced that the offense would have to carry the defense every week, and that they surely would. All that talent would just be too much for anyone to stop.

Turns out, it is the defense carrying the offense so far, with the exception being the Bears game.

I think the biggest problem on offense is Ben. Take away the deep pass, and he doesn't know what to do, because he sure ain't gonna check down. The offensive line is running a close second, as they seem to have forgotten everything they ever knew about blocking, although they looked some better yesterday.

But Kudos to that defense. They have a chance to be really special.

Ben is 11th in passing yards, and that is with MB rusty, and Bell rusty until this last game. And he himself was rusty with the play little in preseason approach. Against the rats the ball was spread out to 6 different players. Also Juju is still learning. And Jesse James isn't a Juggernaut.

I think his weakness is besides the rust and the mobility not what it once was. He is still a work in progress to get on the same page with Bryant. And that is not being proficient in the deep pass right at the moment. I think repetition works that kink out.

The defense hasn't really faced a high-quality offense yet. Browns stink, with a rookie quarterback. Vikings with a backup qb. Bears stink, with Glennon at qb, Ravens stink, with a qb who had 28 yards passing in week three.

I think the offense will come around. Just too many mistakes being made so far: holding penalties, poor throws, drops, missed blocks (mostly by Villanueva). However, If Martavis simply makes that catch for 75 yards on the first play from scrimmage against the Bears, that sets the tone for a totally different game, and we're probably looking at 4-0.

I think Ben will blow up this week at home. Bell seems to be back in form. home games matter

I think what you are seeing is a notoriously slow start to the offense. It's a well know fact that most defenses are a quicker start thaN OFFENSES. Our offense is catching up and if you haven't noticed........ They have improved with each game. I say even between the rats game and the cheif's game you will see a noticeably big difference in offense for several reasons. Yes Bell / Bryant / Ju Ju are three players hitting better on their respective cylinders but ALSO note the OL is improving on less penalties and technique. I think the time spent thus far is paying off in better "gel" play.

NOw Don't think I'm taking away from the "D" as YES they are playing a hell of a lot better. Compare them from last year's play to this is a night and day difference in a good way. Yes there are several NEW faces in the mix and as each game goes by there is improvement along the way.

We do have that "special something" you talked about but also know that our coaching has to show IMPROVMENT along the way and I'm not seeing the rise as I'm seeing in the team. If they can improve a little then you will see an amazing team.

Salute the nation

While you're right about the quality of qb played thus far, it is fair to note that they've shut all those qbs down. In years past, these guys looked like Joe Montana against our defense, and so far not a one of those has had much success through the air. Also, Keenum did go off for 350+ the very next week after they played us. Hopefully, they keep on with the upward trend.

That defense got torched by the ****** Bears. The offense didn't do anything to help in that game. The next couple of weeks will really tell us what kind of a team we have.

The D has played well so far, but still a question mark due to the offenses we have played. The run d still worries me and the ravens did have a couple bad misfires / drops that cost them points.

Ben can’t move as well as he used to. That’s his thing that’s what he is/was. Always knew once he wasn’t as much of a hodini his play would decline. That’s what’s wrong real easy to figure.

Good point. Blake Bortles doesn't exactly strike fear into my heart, either.
