Ask Drunk Cope 12/30

Are they near or in Asheville?

Red Oak Brewery is between Greensboro and Burlington, right by the 40/73 split. It sits right off the interstate.

Lowe's Foods? Is that the same company as the home improvement stores?

Sorry to temporarily derail your thread, Cope.

MDI/Alex Lee owns Lowes Foods they are based out of Hickory NC Lowes Foods out of Winston Salem.

Lowes Home Improvement is also a North Carolina company originally HQ in North Wilkesboro NC but moved to Mooresville NC.

Sarge is correct, two different companies.

Ahhhhh, the offseason is upon us.

Strange thing, I've never ever - not even for a second - enjoyed or accepted what they've tried to do with beer. All the IPA's, craft beers, the friggin' fruity flavors, the chocolates, raspberries, vanillas, etc. I loathe the entire fancy beer movement from the bottom of my heart. Won't touch any of it.

Pour me a traditional pilsner draft beer with a solid head and stop with the experimenting and trying to be cute. Beer achieved perfection in the czech breweries some 175 years ago, stop ******* with it! :beers:

I think the craft beer industry took off because many were tired of the same old industrial beers: Bud, Bud Light, Michelob, Miller, etc. That and we don't have the fine breweries of Europe that are more focused on quality over quantity. So you could probably say that our craft brewers are trying to carry on the brewing legacy of Europe and it's an ever evolving process.

Some of the best pilsners I've had were made in a local craft brewery. No idea if they compare to Europe's but it is what we've got. :)

Personally I do agree with you on the flavor infused beers. However I'm a sucker for an IPA but I like the ones that are not too sweet and have a good hoppy bite.

To each their own though. Long live the freedom of drinking whatever beer you like!

I feel as if we just got through watching the middle part of the decade where our offense was fantastic and could score at will and our defense couldn't get a stop when we needed them to, except that flipped on us this year. Our defense was everything we ever wanted from them and the offense was just plain ****. We can knock game plans, play calling, etc; hard to get to the top of the mountain with a QB coming in off the street.

I’ve been to Germany several times, the first time I thought I was in heaven. My uncle would take me to these pubs built in the 1400’s and drink these lagers and pills all night long. Unbelievably great beer. I didn’t think it could get better, then I went to Prague. The beer in Czech is unreal. They certainly know what the hell is going on with the old beer making people over there. Last time I went to Germany a lot of the young people were drinking beer with a can of coke poured in. Why the hell they would do that is beyond me!

My #1 is different than most. My #1 is a Center. Pouncey is losing his ability to snap, and I fear his injury was an ACL. We'll find out if he gets surgery in the next few weeks.

TE is a need, since Gentry is the only rostered TE.
NT is a need and can be taken later, since it's not a priority for most teams
$B I'd love to see the Steelers draft a legit moneybacker. Edwards isn't big enough, and is having trouble with coverage. Plus it's great to have diverse players that can play both the run and pass from the secondary since we're in nickel, dime, and dollar a lot now.

Depth needs at CB, RB, and OL.

If we lose Davis, Safety depth rises, but can be replaced by the moneybacker. Same with Dupree, if he leaves, EDGE is a need. Another reason why I think the Steelers retain Bud. No draft capital and expensive to replace as a FA. Plus we have the inside track to keep him with the Franchise Tag (if needed).

Unfortunately I have to agree with you Cope. I thought we were set for a couple more years with Pouncey but the writing might be on the wall. Especially where we are drafting from,we might get a #1 center type of guy. Is there someone you draft guys think we can get,a top ranked center?
Instead of drafting a RB,I am hoping we pick up a reasonably priced FA,a diamond in the ruff. Hopefully the CB we drafted last year shows some strides of improvement in his second year,we really did not see much of him to judge.
Although I agree with keeping Rudy,I still think we need to get a proven experienced QB.

There is no doubt in my mind,we will retain Bud. Let’s hope we get him signed to something we can live with.

And of course.....Happy New Years to you,and your family!

Okay I'm just a fan on the outside looking in, but I don't think Pouncey is losing his ability to snap. It's not like his arm is injured or is going to sleep on him when he's out there or something. It's lazy, undisciplined technique. Why was Finney having the same issue as well? Munchak obviously ran a tight ship and this other OL coach clearly doesn't. Pouncey can still play, he just needs a kick in the *** IMO. I'm not an OL guru but when peeps were looking back at the all-22, Pouncey didn't seem to have any glaring issues blocking.

He is getting older though. Maybe I need to look closer. Seems like people think he fell off a cliff. I think losing Munchak was the biggest issue personally.

Hey.....I hope you are right. “Lazy, undisciplined, technique “,it would make me sick to think that this veteran, with his pedigree and huge paycheck needs a kick in the ***. I find it bizarre with his snaps, but the proof was in the pudding. Let’s hope he bounces back.
