As a cranky fuddy duddy…
I’d like to see the Steelers win another one near term…like the next three years..

But it will take a season of sacrifice that none of us has experienced since 1969..some of us anyway..

I am more than willing to let Fields and Wilson walk and start Skykar next year.
Trade Micah maybe TJ also in off season..blow it the Fock up!

This will probably result in a 3/4 win season next year.

I believe Manning will declare after his sophomore season.
He will be eligible because he will be 21 prior to draft.

What better way to host the 2026 drsft in Pittsburgh and announce “with the first pick the Pittsburgh Steelers select…”

We can do it!!

Ben was pick 11. dont have to be 1st

Plus, BEN wasn’t handled as rookie with Coach Tomlin being the head coach, something Manning will have to consider.

And AR was late 1 it happens. Will Manning be that late in the draft? If his trajectory goes on the path I expect I would say no.

The Mannings might pull an Eli on the Steelers when papa Manning wouldn’t allow his son Eli to play for the Chargers.
Nah their season yearly win tally’s probably prevent that. Not that I would blame them.

Oh you’re right! Tomlin has to get at least his nine wins so we wouldn’t even be close to drafting Arch.
This kid could be the game changing QB this franchise needs but we won’t be close to drafting him. Plus I’d have zero confidence with Tomlin developing Arch.

Hey!!, I don't care what they do but I don't want no Mannings on my team! The NFL has already had enough of em and it's past time to let them go extinct....Like them tryranosaurs,,,or whatever the hell you call them funny lookin dinosaurs. No Deb, I'm not talking about T-Rex, them oder ones with the big teeth and short arms. They sorta look like Uncle Pete after he got those discounted Botox shots .

As long as Arch Manning performs just decently at Texas, he'll be the first overall pick when he decides to come out based on bloodline if nothing else.

As others have said, you don't have to necessarily pick at the very top of the draft to land a franchise QB. Ben fell a bit, as did Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Lamar Jackson and Jordan Love were drafted near the end of the first round. Jalen Hurts was a second round pick.

Allen and Mahomes were also picked by teams who traded up, meaning they were drafted into better situations than if they were taken by the original holders of the picks. KC had made the divisional round with Alex Smith and sat Mahomes for his rookie year to enable them to focus on his development.

And the Steelers showed not that long ago that they're willing to trade up into the top 10. Unfortunately, they did it for Devin Bush.

It's definitely something the Steelers should consider doing again if they feel the right QB is available, though this year's QB class seems pretty weak.

Saying that, it's not like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were considered absolute can't miss prospects.

We don't even know how Manning will do in college. He has good genes, but he has played limited snaps. If he does well the steelers more than likely won't get near him in the draft. Even if we make top 5 chances are a team ahead of us will need a QB. We would probably have to sacrifice 2 drafts to even have a shot. Even if we include say watt on a package he is getting older and might not get as much as we think for him

He has flashed even in a limited capacity. I would take more of stock in him developing over the Steelers being in a position to take him when available.

The concept of them winning 4 next year is actually slightly less statistically then them winning a SB while Tomlin is still HC.

What are you suggesting? That we lose 6-7-8 games? We got this.

Tomlin likes " pedigree". He likes " footballis iq". Would he risk his 9 wins to a rookie?

Tomlin develops no players. But Arch could get his guidance from his family members.

I doubt it. They are already picking through the scrapheap of used qb's for next season. Who would be cheapest? That's who we will get.

Pedigree, if you will....

I also would add in that the current Steelers coaching staff has shown very little of being able to develope a QB. Arch would have to come Pre-Delveloped to have a chance here. Similar to how TJ WATT was pre-developed upon his arrival.

Tomlin has zero clue in how to develop a young QB. Not that Kenny was anything special but he saddled him with the worst OC in recent history and it took Art to step in to get him fired.
I think Arch will be in his junior year in 25 season and would expect him to come back to UT for the 2026 season and enter the draft for 2027.
A lot can happen in that span of two seasons.
If by chance Arch would be within reach when we drafted hopefully they move on from Tomlin and bring in an innovative offensive minded HC. That’s a lot of wishing though.
