Would love to see it as I just don't see this draft being very talented (i.e. truly worthy of a 1st round pick) beyond about 10-15 players. Anyone else agree and do you see any scenario where the Steelers would try to make a move up? I just love Trae Waynes....think he would be a great addition to the black and gold.

Steelers love Beasley. If he would drop to say #15, I think they would trade up.

We need all of our picks. I don't believe we have the luxury to trade up. If we can score an extra 3rd or 2nd by trading down, I'd be ok with that.

Agree if Beasley gets within a few pics I could see us making a move.

For Waynes, yes, I'd offer our 3rd round pick. He's the best CB in the draft. Big, fast, quick, ball skills, productive in college and scheme versatile. Waynes can play cover 2, cover 3 , man, or zone.

I disagree and I am not seeing superstar I am seeing possibly sound corner not a great lock down corner. If they trade up I simply would hope for better value not a value I feel should be sitting there come 22. If not Waynes someone with equal value...............

Definitely agree with Beasley but can't see them going up more than a few spots otherwise it will cost them their 2nd round pick.

I think they might move in the second round. I believe they know they need 2 players that need to play considerable time,
if not start this year. 1 CB and 1 OLB They will get 1 at 22 and another will still be available early in second. They could
move to get him, rather than risk waiting.

I could also see the possibility of moving back in first if it got you a late first and another second or early 3rd pick.

I do not see the players in this draft worthy of trading up to get. Even the top players at each position although the best of this class are not likely to be the best of the last 5 years at their respective positions. Think back to top qbs is there a manning, big ben, Breeze, or kid like the colts got last year? Same thing with safeties is their a Polomolu or Reed, a guard like Faneca. There are some good players in the draft but I do not see anyone looked at as a likely great player. I think for value to be there one must be going after a great player not just a good player.

Totally agree. If anything, it seems there's gonna be a lot of talent bunched-up around rounds 3-4-5. I'd rather us move down a bit a grab another pick in that range.

I think the odds are slim we trade up, especially in the first round. We just have way too many holes to fill.

I think it's more likely to trade down (if a trade were to happen) since we need so many "fixes" and it looks like there is evenly spread talent rounds two through 4.

Nope. I do not see any picks worth trading up for in this draft. Hell, in previous drafts when there were players worth moving up for we stood pat. We need all of our picks so don't hold your breath.

I dreamed this very same thing last night...

Greetings all, new member here. Will mostly read and post occasionally.
I have been thinking this the year they make a move in the first round. I have this funny feeling that they move up to 15-17 for Danny Shelton if and when he falls.

The kid could be real good but I do not believe he is worth moving up for. Most of his success was against inferior competition he will not find that on the starting roster of nfl teams.

Say the trade was Steelers first and third to move up for Waynes. Do you like Waynes better than Johnson/Jones and Mauldin/Coates? I'll take the latter.
