Watching a lot of you tube videos after Steelers win against the Browns.. Much of the talk including some KDKA post game was how good the secondary played . Myself I saw way more open receivers and only by a dropped ball or bad pass was there not a completion. We play off so far receivers and Tight ends can go wherever they please. I do not see the tight coverage I see in other games as well as on our receivers. I do see our defensive backs get up and clap and hold fist high when in reality they had nothing to do with stoppage of play. Browns moved the ball down the field with ease and were stopped by the dropped balls. Last tow series fumble and dropped passes help secure the win. Any one else feel this secondary is great?

This secondary is average to below average. I saw the same thing as you. Ton of dropped passes and guys running wide open all over the place.

They're so worried about getting beat over the top that they're just giving 8-10 yards routinely and hoping for teams to create their own mistakes.

The secondary isn't even close to getting the ball by INTs. This includes Minkah.

I guess it's favorable they'll see the worst passing game in the league coming in Monday.

Lots of dropped balls. Some of those came on pressure so you can't fully negate what the defense did. The secondary is not what it was when we had Nelson out there. Lots of LB on WR action too, obviously.

Had those Clown receivers held on the ball the outcome would have been different IMO. Thank You Jesus.

We posed the same argument last year about our receivers during that end of year losing streak.

I would like to think pressure helped their cause as much as dropped balls.

Also Baker is coming back from injury with his left shoulder locked into his shoulder pads. His motion was wierd, the ball came out differently than it normally was and the Receivers seemed surprised that the ball got to them at all.

OBJ used to make that deep middle catch in his sleep. Now's he's one handed stabbing the Browns to an L. Unreal...

I see what you see on the field of play.

Our system / scheme has been wore out and stale for many years. It's a bend in between the 20s then clamp a little tighter once they are in the red zone. At times it works but way to often you see "WIDE OPEN" in the middle of the field.....

Our scheme isn't going to change anytime soon so lets hope they can control the redzone.

They are holding tight as their holding opponents to low scores. I only look at the last three games as that gives most accurate snap shot of where they are.

Salute the nation

The secondary was good. This secondary is more bend don't break . They rely on pass rush to apply pressure and force bad throws, the secondary just doesn;t give up the big play and make the offense have long drives. It is hard to score on long drives. The longer the drive, the more likelihood of a penalty or dropped ball or fumble or bad throw that stops the drive.

A couple of those balls that were "dropped" was due to the WR's being soft and knowing that the hit was coming. Give credit to the Secondary for earning that reputation. The one "drop" by landry was a very good defensive play by Minkah as well. I'm giving the secondary some credit for playing well, some credence to the Browns WR's dropping key passes that should have been caught, and some blame on Baker's accuracy as those contested balls weren't placed to give the WR's the best chance at snagging them either.

Next week, another ****** QB who will be running for his life.

This is also why I wanted Baker to play against us. He's coming back from a week off and an injury, and just wasn't as crisp as Keenum looked Thu night. It helped us making him uncomfortable.

Plus when he pumped up the crowd after getting bashed out of bounds, he did nothing after that, but watch Jarvis fumble... Lol...
