With Nick Foles going to Da Bears, should Colbert inquire about Mitchell Trubisky for a 3rd(?) in 2021 to back-up Ben and his possible successor? His contract is super friendly($645K) and does have potential to be a good QB.

Trubisky is odd he will have games where he just tears it up then other games he flat out sucks. I think it was 2 years ago he was the top rated fantasy qb 2 weeks in a row. He is better than what wr currently have, but Ben still maybe playing in 2021 and we don't know how Rudolph will progress. I wouldn't pull three trigger on the deal yet

Ben's injury does have me concerned and if he can't go or is injured again, I'm not certain I'm comfortable with Mason as the back-up either. If not Trubisky, I would kick the tires on a vet back-up.

Where did you come up with that number. Seems awfully low for someone who was taken 2nd overall in the 1st round of the draft.
He has shown some signs here and there but he also disappears totally in some games.
Bears got to be kicking themselves still to this day for picking him ahead of Mahomes or D. Watson
Sorry but its a pass for me as I don't think he rates much better than Mason Rudolph

I would be interested if he can be had for a cheap trade. Trubisky did not have many starts in college. He’s still raw. He does have skills. He has touch and accuracy and he has good mobility. He’s just not very experienced. He absolutely could develop into a really good QB.

Interesting idea but Trubisky doesn't really excite me as an option. Seems like another overdrafted prospect who hasn't lived up to expectations and we already have one of those on the roster in Lynch.

I'd have to look at his piece of work, film wise. If my QB coach thinks he could make something out of him then just maybe but right now I'd say NO.

Winston is better than everything we have on the shelf---I wouldn't be too upset if he came in for a reasonable price...

And ABSOLUTELY HELL NO to Trubinsky...

No to Trubisky and as bad as it sounds I would rather stick with Rudolph. Winston would be a good fit and better than anyone we have had on the roster as a back up in a while. Obviously the biggest comparison to Ben is Winston. Big in stature and big time passers with strong arms and love to push the ball down the field and look for explosive plays. With that being said both styles of plays lead to turnovers. Both not mobile by any means but can escape out of a busted play. IF Ben were to go down again or not come back as strong Winston could step in and not have to change the game plan as much.

no I rathen sign winston to a 2 year back up deal and see if he can unseat mason and if under tomlin and a qb coach can resurruct his career with a more run- pass offense.

color me cynical...just don't think we are gonna grab a vet QB. wish we would, but just doubt it will happen. if they do, does that mean the end of MR or back to the developmental bin?

Has touch? The guy throws a screen like he's trying to throw 50 yards down field. He misses wide open WRs all the time. If he came here he'd drive people nuts. His inaccurate passes are almost legendary in Chicago.

he’s erratic but he showed touch and accuracy i college. That’s why he went so high. It was thought he could be the most NFL ready as a pocket passer. He was a shotgun RPO guy in college and I think he’s having footwork issues which is hurting his accuracy, but he does have some really nice throws on film. He has the ability. He needs more work.

What I don’t know is how hard he works on his craft.

I like him better than Lynch as a developmental project.

I'm sure he's better than a guy that should be sitting at home but that doesn't mean much. Most people were shocked that he went that high.... mostly because he didn't deserve it and now we see why. I've watched film on him and I've seen others break his film down. I don't care for him.

Government officials asked the Bears to parachute Trubisky into Iran, since it is generally believed that he is the only person capable of overthrowing Ali Khamenei.

Someone told me that teaching a QB to throw slower passes is an easy fix. Lmaooooo!!!

I'm with Muddle, we already have a first round QB backing up Ben in Paxton Lynch. I'm interested to see if he can unseat Duck or Mason in Training Camp.

I would be very surprised if the Bears were pinning their entire season on Nick Foles. Very surprised.

I don't have any interest in Trubisky, but Lynch has shown absolutely nothing in the NFL. I'd take a chance on an unheralded small-school guy with physical traits to compete for the No. 3 spot.

I'm happy to let the competition weed out the others.

If Trubinski or Winston started for the Steelers for one season, how many wins would they get?

I'll say 8.

= what's the point.
