This looks rather fishy when you watch the video breakdown. The markers are lined up exactly 10 yards on 1st down but the sideline official decides to move the first down marker back 1 yard on 2nd down so the Cowboys have to gain an extra yard for a first down. In the redzone, that is not insignificant.

The argument in the article is basically that the ball should have been originally spotted at the 14 but was actually spotted more like the 15 so the sideline official was adjusting the error of the original spot...however this still means 11 yards were needed to gain a 1st down. Cowboys ended up kicking a FG on the drive btw.

Always some kind of shenanigans going on in Gillette.

Lie detector Kraft, billacheat, and Ernie.

Obviously it won't happen but that is the only way I would be convinced they aren't cheating still.

And the only way I accept any of their trophies as legit.

It's fishy but not incorrect.

If you look at the gamebook, the 1st down play was actually at the 14 yard line. The 1st down play, the lines are incorrect. The center is holding the ball a clear half yard in front of the so-called "blue line". According to the official gamebook the play started at the 14 yard line and the 1st down was at the 4 yard line.

I suspect the 1st down flag holder on the near side of the field was more accurate but the far side of the field flag holder didn't realize his mistake until a play later.

Plus, the video shows he moves the first down marker a lot, but that's because he is also on the wrong side of the 5 yard line (towards the 6) which is REALLY wrong. Based on where the center was holding the ball on 1st down, vs. where the marker ended up on 2nd down isn't all that far apart. Maybe 1' wrong. But since we didn't actually see the SPOT of the ball on 1st down (only the center holding it) and the wrong colored lines, it does appear fishy. But it's not.

I concur.. it’s nothing... and im always up for a pats conspiracy

I'm leaning this way as well. I think it shows the incompetency of the refs more than anything. They can't even get spotting the ball/yard markers correct.

Please disperse nothing to see here

This can be blown off in any excuse / reasoning one would want but the bottom line is how many times has the STEELERS been playing the cheaters and have gotten a bad spot? Many times I have witnessed just that and can't Remeber a single time we had gotten a favorable spot while playing the chatting ********. Here is a questionable / non-questionable call against a different team so I surmise that the cheaters do get the favor of the spot(s). Just another small thing but it adds up, maybe a first down or two through out a game. 1st N 10, cheats gain 2.5 but get full three spot, 3rd N 3 the cheats get three and first down BUT if 1st down spotted correctly, they'd be short a 1/2 yard....... These are the little subtleties that favor the cheating ******** that no one seems to be able to see.

My self, I will never respect their organization or cheating accomplishments due to the little insignificant but still cheating things. Add in the taping / convictions of team and players / rub n tug lies / etc.

No just saying things go both ways. bottom line is refs in the nfl are not good in general. people only see what promotes their narrative

it does go both ways but it goes a HELL of a lot more the cheater's way than anybody else's. Oh and yes, I see both sides on this subject.
