I thought no that frees up about 7million per multiple reports I see on Instagram...
Considering we're $150M under the cap next year, we can kick all the cans we want!Kicking the can again. It helps for 21' but what about down the road?
That doesn't fit the salary cap doom and gloom-ers narrative. I'll be rightConsidering we're $150M under the cap next year, we can kick all the cans we want!
$150M!!!! **** I was unaware of that. Then yeah, extending Ben's cap hit doesn't look so terrible anymore. That also leaves us with a LARGE roster to fill too however.Considering we're $150M under the cap next year, we can kick all the cans we want!
It's nice to say but the way we handle the cap, we'll be lucky to be under at all next year. Watt and Minkah will have new contracts. Ben will still be hitting that and we will have to sign another No. 1 QB, which could be Rudolph. Plus, we have countless players this year that are FA's. We will need to fill a lot of holes this year and/or next year. That $150 million will go up in smoke. Guaranteed.Considering we're $150M under the cap next year, we can kick all the cans we want!
Next year will be business as usual. I am more concerned with the QB position and coaching than I am with the teams ability to manipulate the cap and draft. It's nice to say but the way we handle the cap, we'll be lucky to be under at all next year. Minkah will not get a new contract until next offseason I believe, Watt's new deal won't have a huge cap hit until 2023 probably, Mahomes signed that huge contract before the season, but he played this year under his rookie deal still with a cap hit of only 5.4 million, and next year his cap hit is only 24 million. So Watt's new deal isn't going to to mean immediate high cap numbers for him. Hopefully we can draft a QB next year, I doubt one falls to us, and I don't see us trading up to #13 like CBSSPORTS has us doing. If we can get a QB in round 1, you get him for 5 years at a low salary. It's nice to say but the way we handle the cap, we'll be lucky to be under at all next year. And they will keep who they want to keep and let go who they want to let go for the most part. Sask you know their routine by now they will sign and free agent fill and draft well.Everyone says the 150 million in '22 thing. what they are not telling you is that includes 17 players. Must be iron men. Not Steelers.
Impossible I am told it is time for fans to jump off a bridge. They same regurgitated **** we will hear 5 years from now same **** we heard 5 years ago. Get out your calendar.Yup, Steelers still have to fill that roster the following year. with that money, they are signing whoever they want, including a possible vet stud QB.
Brady, Brees, Mariota are a few. Darnold...
You can thank Covid for that.I'm confident that Dupree and Juju are players they would normally like to keep, but both are cap casualties to the kick the can down the road model the Steelers are using.
