By G.Stryker www.SteelerNation.com Ryan Swtizer was an undersized, but productive receiver and returner in college. At 5’8” and 181 pounds he didn’t let his small, stocky stature hold him back. His quickness and athleticism had him improving in receptions and yards all 4 seasons at the University of North Carolina. He finished his senior season […]

His double move is pretty devastating.

Love his speed and quickness. Not sure how he did in Dallas last year but if he was returning the ball and made it through the season, that is a good thing for his durability. This is the type of guy we've seen Belicheat make look like an all pro. Hopefully, we can do the same.

I absolutely love him as a route runner, returner, and after the catch. I'm just not sure if I trust his hands. His hand placement is wonkier than DHB's, so going from sure handed players like Eli, Tucker, and even Patterson to Switzer is going to be questionable.

He has to be able to produce, if not, the Steelers may have to put Samuels in the slot on game day.

Has there been any issues with him dropping passes? I haven't seen anything on that yet. But, we do seem to bring in guys and draft guys that were known to have questionable hands: Coates, Bryant, McDonald and the list goes on.

had one dropped return somewhere along the line.......

Here's an even more in depth breakdown of Switzer with vids and down distance numbers.

Watching these highlights makes me feel a little better about his hands, but man he loves to use his body. It may help him with the shorter arms?

You would think in the slot your catch radius wouldn't need to be huge.(short throws QBs in theory are more accurate) But I don't expect for him to see the field in that capacity a lot. Unless injury.

You're right Slash, catch radius doesn't mean as much, if you have an accurate QB. Trubisky was his QB, and the dude is money. Went #2 in that draft and had close to a 70% completion percentage. Ben is accurate, so I doubt much problems throwing to him.

Since he's the starting kick/punt returner, I would expect to see him worked into 4WR sets as the second slot with JuJu.
