Now everyone knows I'm irritated with Bell about the holdout, but I believe he's a generational back and that's mostly why I'm annoyed with him.

The Steelers finally have ALL the pieces together, Ben, Brown, Byrant, Bell and even Boswell. They have the FIVE B's.

And yet, yesterday they managed to score fewer points against a weaker defense than the hated P*ts did against a stronger defense. The truth is, Had Pittsburgh played NE yesterday, they would have lost. By a ******* TON. And most likely it would have been because of preparation rather than talent.

Pittsburgh won on the road against a division rival and for that I am ecstatic. Brown had a great day as did James. I'm thrilled. I really am. Martavis made a couple catches and started getting back in to the game. Super! Watt looked like a stud, Hargrave made some great plays. And lets be fair, the Browns truly are improving, slowly but surely.

But, once again the Steelers managed to make an opposing QB who should be shaking in his boots look like a relatively decent, even good player. The Steelers spent most of the game playing not to lose which not surprisingly, against the Browns turned out to be just good enough to "not lose".

At some point this team needs to find its killer instinct or it's just going to be a 10-6 team of really really talented guys who never reach for their potential.

After our first drive, we should have adjusted to the Clowns crowding the line of scrimmage and thrown the ball down field to loosen them up. It really looked like a preseason game from us. If that is a one game deal then so be it. We can't expect to do that next weekend and win

I suspect the Browns were overly concerned about Bell and wanted to take him away. Obviously when you have someone like Bryant and Brown you can take advantage of that opportunity. I'm sure that is what Ben was freaking out about.

This team management is too worried about Sport Talking heads calling them out about running up the score, and hurting other teams feelings. I can tell you, if I was in charge, we would let off the gas about Tuesday after the games. Ben would own the TD season record, probably the INT one too. Our backup QB would be seeing some time to, once we were up by 4TD's. Maybe even pass out bonuses for playing yourself out of the game.

Year in year out, we get by on talent alone. I am one of the few people left out there who actually watch other teams' games. Many teams look like true professionals. They are prepared, they play fundamentally sound football with good mechanics, and appear to have a clear plan, even if they don't have the talent to win. From a fan perspective, it feels like, when we win, the talent overcame the lack of professionalism/preparation/sound fundamentals/a good plan. When we lose, it feels like we succumbed to those things. I can't remember the last time I was truly impressed with the Steelers coaching. Sure I'm happy after a win, but for most of those wins, I come away thinking "yeah our guys were just better than theirs and made plays" not "we came in prepared and had a solid plan and executed fundamentals and were the more buttoned-up professionals"

Tomlin cannot get this team to reach full potential..

Some of the national pundits are surprised that the Steelers only won by three. Pfft, I'm not. Shades plays a bad team especially on the road, there is a very good chance they lose and almost assuredly will not cover the spread.

It's true Ron. Any regular Steeler fan who didn't think this one could go either way was fooling himself. It really could have been a blowout or a loss. And had it been a blowout it would have more likely been due to emotion based on the players rather than razor sharp coaching.

Tomlin just is NOT a road coach. It's not in his blood.

Ron was more right than I was about that game.

Though the D did put a mobile QB on his back 7 times. And other than a late TD that made the game close, the Browns never had the ball with a chance to win it. The fact that the 2min drill put together a 90yd TD drive at the half, then we controlled the last 3:30 on the clock to ice the game IS the determining factor to how good the coaching is. Here it was clearly above the line, obviously...

As usual I am somewhere in between. A win is a win is a win is a win.

But I also believe if you aren't practicing and playing aggressive foot on the floorboard type of football, then you can't be shocked if you come up short when the ultimate games are staring at you in the face.

If you aren't prepared for one reason or another for one game, then your handcuffing your season.

If you are playing not to lose, eventually it will cause you to lose.

And sure there will be games lost. But let it not be because you weren't prepared mentally or physically.

I do agree.

I will take a division win on the road any day and twice on Sunday. And given the fact that we got 2 guys who basically are "Titanic" rusty. s'good.

21-10, Steelers are driving and that tipped pass was intercepted. If that doesn't happen, this is probably a 24-10/28-10 type of game. Browns made some nice plays defensively, they came out in their new stable and were stoked. The old axiom applies, that they pay their players too. Sure, it was a slow choppy sloppy performance by the Steelers, but, it is a win on the road in the division. I swore, turned the channel in frustration, but mostly because like most of you, knew the 'Burgh can play MUCH better. I am not sure the Browns can. When it came time to win, Brown, Ben and Bell came through. Browns never had the ball w/a chance to win.

The lack of playing time in the pre season does play a part too. But to me thats a risk worth taking.

Browns lost on talent but the Steelers were clearly outcoached. Luckily they could play with a lead since ST's got a TD early. 12 f'n penalties for 144 yards. I know the refs were flag-happy but most of those calls were legit.

Tomlin does like being called a players coach, but he is.

What would a coach with multiple Lombardi trophies do to Bell, who's being selfish? Call Bell up privately and tell him to report on the 3rd pre-season game or miss being introduced as the starter with the possibility of being benched. I think so. Tom Coughlin or Bill Belichick would not stand for this type of bunk...and the Steelers have too much of it with star players. You have to ask why. It's not that we are unlucky, its the culture the head coach creates that allows diva type to stray away from football commitments over me, me, me and leisure type of activities that can get a player into trouble.

Only one game vs the Browns, but Bell who wants to make 17 million a season didn't do himself any favors. I still think trading him for two first round pick provided we can pick the QB we want in the draft deserves serious consideration.

We can spend the 12 million elsewhere, groom Ben's replacement, and find a replacement. RB's are easy to find. Look at rookie Hunt, a guy I mocked in rounds 3-4. He looks like a keeper.

Did it ever cross anyone's mind that all those #1 and top 5 picks might be actually adding up now for the Browns? Just a thought. Now that they have a potentially decent QB and a defense full of top picks they might be able to compete with some teams. I don't know why anyone would expect us to blow them out 56-0 in week 1...

Now see this is what im talking about with you..If BELL was easily replaced they would have done it this offseason. No need to offer him anything and especially dont offer him 4 million above the next RB if RBs are easily replaced. Youve been wrong on Bell for awhile now and refuse to admit it. HE HAS DEVELOPED into to the best overall RB in the league. And your nonsense of easily replaced doesnt hold water when the Steelers went above and beyond to keep someone you call easily replaceable. Even with his off the field issues they tried to keep him. But you refuse to say maybe you are wrong on that

And i dont remember Tom Coughlin sitting O Beckham when he was acting like an *******

If trading Le'Veon could net us Sam Darnold, I absolutely pull the trigger. I'm not sure that's possible, but hey, a guy can dream right?

Only way I trade Bell is if they think next year that he won't sign. Then I give him the non exclusive tag.

But call it a gut instinct I think he will be resigned.

The Browns play Baltimore next week, so we'll see.
