Coach Tomlin you'd better not keep Boykin around next year because obviously you feel like he's ****. You'd rather trot out the guys you have than trust Boykin. So dump him and cut your losses.

And by the way, Mr. Boykin should you happen to read this, please understand this is a criticism of the coaches stupid decision to waste your year, not your ability. Clearly we have no idea what your ability is since the best I can figure is the coach is determined to get a comp pick for you by sitting you until the season is completely out of hand.

Fear not though. Tomlin will unleash hell the moment it starts to look like a sub .500 season may be coming - again.
 
Yep. It is beyond incompetence to sit Boykin this long - it is insanity. Getting ready for the "With the 16th pick, the Steelers select......."

Boykin is a free agent next year. So yeah, he'll definitely be gone.. I'm sure he wants to go somewhere that he can actually play.

The.Steelers are getting some serious slot skills: Boykin, who is headed into the final year of his rookie contract, has emerged as one of the NFL's best slot cornerbacks over the last two seasons. He's one of just 11 corners to play at least 50 percent of his team's snaps in the slot in each of the last two seasons. Only Chris Harris has held quarterbacks to a lower passer rating while in the slot over the last two years than Boykin, and Boykin's seven picks are as many as the next two highest players (Harris and Buster Skrine) combined.

Hmmmmm, is he just not fitting in or did he piss someone off in the organization?
 
Well he is a free agent so I'm pretty sure he is gone. I'm thinking he is either brutal in practice or a head case. The Boykin and Scobbee trades were all time lows for Tombert.
 
Wait, you mean you guys would rather see a CB like Boykin covering Baldwin on 3rd downs instead of a older slower safety like Allen?
 
Should be interesting to see what he does (or does not do) next year. Watch him go to the pro bowl next year. If he winds up in jail then I guess the coaches made the correct decision. Anything less than incarceration demands investigation. :)
 
I actually get visibly upset when the topic of Brandon Boykin comes up so I have to recuse myself from this discussion

For a draft pick - as high as a 4th round pick.

Where he was a good performer for the Eagles the past 2 seasons - quite good, in some respects (25 passes defenses, 7 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, limited opposing passers to a QB rating of just 78.2 on passes thrown to his receiver in 2014).

Finally, are you saying that you rely on the Eagles for well-reasoned personnel decisions, such that if they get rid of a guy, he must not be any good?

That's right. Maybe he is an *******. Maybe he just isn't that good. We don't see what is going on in practice. Maybe he is a ***** when it comes to tackling. Who knows? I don't think Brandon Boykin is the answer to much, though. All I can say is that the guys who follow the Steelers like Fittapaldo and the like have nothing good to say about him.

On the other hand, I have seen them say some positive things about Grant. Why not let him play? Forget Boykin.

Didn't the eagles get rid of several players? Are all of them bad as well? Didn't the Rams get rid of Bettis? ETC... not sure your point here.

You can go and sign 10 Revis or Sherman types, unless the scheme changes you can expect the same results.

My point is that two organizations who have had him have chosen not to start him this year and both need DB help. There is some problem. Not sure how it relates to Bettis.

One team had him last year and he was regarded as one of the best slot CBs in the league. This same team also traded away players that didn't fit Kelly's "system".

You think the Steelers were had? You think Philly pulled a fast one?
 
I think the Steelers needed a backup for Gay in the slot and traded a 4th to get one.

So that means they saw something in Boykin right? Also why is Tomlin just now realizing that his CBs are garbage? He is now talking about playing Boykin more.. why? I thought he was just a back up to Gay?

Boykin looked pretty goddamn good in Philly last year. I distinctly remember being excited about the trade
 
maybe we have been saving Boykin till Dec. so we can unleash hell?
 
Tomlin is now saying they will entertain Boykin playing. But, the only problem he saw with Blake and Cockrell was in their tackling. Tackling? WTF! Did he watch the game? Blake made so many mistakes that left players wide open and was directly responsible for 2 TD's to his man.
 
It takes a "new" player 8 years to learn any Steeler defense, so don't expect to see Boykin unless every starter and practice squad player goes down.
