Not looking too good for our men of steel I can tell you that.

First off you have the a Ravens with Lamar Jackson most likely this seasons MVP and like him or not, he will be a pain in the *** for a while.

Next you have the Cleve Land Browns who with a good coach will turn Baker Mayfield around and it’s been reported they are interested in Josh McDaniels from the Pats. He will turn that offense into a productive one if he’s the HC.

Then we have the Cincy Bengals who most certainly will pick their franchise QB in Joe Burrow who will be better than the two I just mentioned. This kid is going to be lights out and I dread having to face him twice a year. They will get better with a solid draft in 2020 and have their man in Burrow.

Then we come to the Steelers who will have a 38 year old QB coming off elbow surgery and whose best days are behind him. Even if he can successfully come back, he no longer has much mobility and escapability like he once had and will pretty much be a statue back there. Add to that he will be playing behind what’s become a porous OL.
We have nothing behind Ben if he goes down and who knows what Cool Shades will do. Ben has been great for us but age catches up to everyone. I’m afraid what’s going to happen is Ben comes back but not the same player and then what? Most definitely like some have said here, we at least need a veteran backup but what scares me is we have no long range plan to really replace Ben. All the other three teams will be set but could be years before we see our franchise guy again.

Lamar will be an elite QB until he blows out a knee running all over the field. Then he will be RG3 v. 2.0. It is only a matter of time.

Looks pretty grim from a franchise QB perspective. They better start building a lights out running game and a shut down defense until we get another franchise QB in ohhh 15-20 years.. Seen that movie before...

We are in limbo until we know if Ben can come back 100%

The defense is getting better, that's the good news

Our window is closing fast. We all knew there was going to be a day when our advantage of having Roethlisberger vs. a bunch of average QB's was going to end. The years of dealing with Flacco and Dalton and the chaos of the Cleveland Browns is coming to an end, slowly but surely.

You would have to hope that Burrows busts, Mayfield is what he looked like this year and Jackson gets solved like many QB's like him before. You would be lucky to get two of those.

Lamar will be figured out to some degree but the Steelers are definitely behind the 8 ball after next year. We will be basement dwellers as all three other teams have legitimate starting QB's and we don't, at this point. Mayfield is better than the Clowns showed this year and I think Burrow is going to be very, very good in the NFL.

Yawn.

BM has proven he is trash. Could he be an ok QB in this league? Maybe. But given the talent around that team this year, he proved he is hot ****. And a head case.

Cin - another OH team. I don’t care who they draft. He is a rookie. Could that player pan out? 50/50. How many of the top draft QBs done **** lately. Especially those that go to OH.

BAL - This is the only one, but I don’t fear it. Could he become the next Vick? Plays several years and does great with arm and legs, while mostly playing all games...maybe but it hasn’t happens in a long time and even Vick didn’t do **** in the long run. These Runnjng QBs get figured out, and they get hurt. It just the history. Not worried.

Pitt - it’s our time. One /two years or so BB we own this division. Need to sure up some spots sure but healthy Ben it’s us. By then. Who knows. It’s not a QB on the team currently.

This isn't our division but someone mentioned Dobbs in another thread. Don't forget he is the No. 3 QB now for the Jags and was beat out for No. 2 by Minshew. So, he left here and hasn't done anything. And, I liked the Dobbs pick when we made it a few years ago.
