Not looking too good for our men of steel I can tell you that.
First off you have the a Ravens with Lamar Jackson most likely this seasons MVP and like him or not, he will be a pain in the *** for a while.
Next you have the Cleve Land Browns who with a good coach will turn Baker Mayfield around and it’s been reported they are interested in Josh McDaniels from the Pats. He will turn that offense into a productive one if he’s the HC.
Then we have the Cincy Bengals who most certainly will pick their franchise QB in Joe Burrow who will be better than the two I just mentioned. This kid is going to be lights out and I dread having to face him twice a year. They will get better with a solid draft in 2020 and have their man in Burrow.
Then we come to the Steelers who will have a 38 year old QB coming off elbow surgery and whose best days are behind him. Even if he can successfully come back, he no longer has much mobility and escapability like he once had and will pretty much be a statue back there. Add to that he will be playing behind what’s become a porous OL.
We have nothing behind Ben if he goes down and who knows what Cool Shades will do. Ben has been great for us but age catches up to everyone. I’m afraid what’s going to happen is Ben comes back but not the same player and then what? Most definitely like some have said here, we at least need a veteran backup but what scares me is we have no long range plan to really replace Ben. All the other three teams will be set but could be years before we see our franchise guy again.
