I don't see it on steelers.com or espn.com.

Interesting.

What are we asking for? Case of cold Rolling Rocks and a pack of Juicy Fruit ( the big pack of 25, not that 5 piece cheap pack )

Shefter, you better be right this time!

WTH happened to him? How did he change from Polamalu apprentice to useless above the neck? i mean, he was in place to inherit that spot given what the FO did during the draft and free agency, it was him and Will Allen to man the spot. And suddenly he is useless? WTF

Why not sweeten the pot and throw in Jarvis Jones. Jerry Jones is always looking for a LBer. Maybe we could get a 6th for the both of them.

Where's the link?

Probably trying to get the Scobee pick back...good luck with that.

The last time I heard anything about a Shamarko trade was during the draft. I thought there was some talk about Tennessee being interested in the kid. Maybe Dick LeBeau is talking the kid up and the Titans will give us a sweet 3rd rounder for him and couple of barrels of Jack Daniels. We get a solid third and cheap Jack and Cokes at Heinz Field.

It seems like the Steelers are trying to get back some of what they apparently wasted on Boykin and Scobee.

With that being said, Thomas is kind of an odd player to "put on the block," given how he hasn't shown much at all.

However, the kid is an explosive athete who showed great instincts in college and flashed some man coverage skills early in his rookie year.

Maybe they know there is some interest out there from teams who implement simpler schemes where he can just read in react and not have to consider and adjust to like a million variables every play, like the Steelers ask from their safeties.

For what, though? The guy still hasn't even made the team as the number 3 safety. I'd actually be shocked if they got anything better than a 7th rounder for him. Then again, someone will pick him up and he will do just fine as a starter on their team.

he problably needed a story.. read that crap here,, then made up a rumor to get the biggest fan base in the NFL talking.

We couldn't even get Fu and a six for him. The dude doesn't contribute, why deal for him if you're another team?

probably just some mis-heard rumor starting bullshit

Steelers should try trading Shamarko Thomas

It's year three, and Thomas is relegated to special teams duty. Twelve-year veteran Will Allen snatched his starting safety spot alongside Mike Mitchell. Allen has been a steadying presence through four games this year. They also have team captain Robert Golden as a backup safety/special teams ace.

If Thomas isn't in the future plans, the Steelers can explore whether a late-round pick -- preferably, the sixth-rounder they lost in the Scobee trade -- is available in exchange. Thomas could go to a team that accentuates Thomas' strength, which is seeing a play and chasing it. He's also an effective blitzer. Mike Tomlin said Thomas' problems have been "above the neck." In other words, he's not making the mental adjustments required of a safety in this system.
