A couple things that really exemplify the situation

The Chargers ended up 3rd and 14 on the only penalty I think they got in the second half. They were on the outer edge of field goal range. If that Is Belichick he would dial up pressure and force the quick throw and tackle behind it. They aren't going to stand in and give up a sack to lose the field goal. They literally gave up four points by playing coverage.
Secondly the offense has reverted to the sand lot 4 second plays. Nothing easy is set up. Its the same **** as it was. I really hoped we got past that but they just cant.

They certainly didn't ever have any rythm tonight. Honestly at one point I was wondering if Ben hadn't told the coaches he wanted to have a "highlight" game because he was playing Rivers. He made 3 or 4 great throws and at least that many terrible ones, but at no point did they seem to have a "plan".

I mean, it's true. In the 1st half they were handling the defensive pass rush really well. And they did put up 23 points. So they were doing fine. But in the 2nd half it's like they completely failed to do anything until it was complete crunch time.

At one point of the season they were taking what was there. Hitting the checkdowns. Staying ahead of the chains. Last three weeks is a walk back.

I'm not blaming Ben. I'm blaming the coaches. It looked like they had it figured out. But they are back to sand lot bullshit. The structure they had is lost. The rhythm they had is gone. Now its Ben trying to make plays on third down. The whole game is based upon staying ahead of the chains. If you keep putting yourself in third and even 3, you are going to **** it up.
