By. Jonathan Clark, @jonclark_7 SteelerNation.com * This off-season, us as fans, have watched the Pittsburgh Steelers improve on the offensive side of the football through the three-year commitment to TE Eric Ebron and using their highest draft pick on WR Chase Claypool. We haven’t heard too much noise regarding this Steelers defense and besides the […]

Tuitt is definitely a wild card in the defensive equation. If we can keep this years version relatively healthy they have the talent to compete for the ultimate showdown.

But health will play a major factor in deciding if they go deep into the playoffs or sit home scratching their arse

again.

Very good read Jonathan, thank you.

Stephon needs to be healthy for a full season. You can't produce NOTHING from the sidelines. It doesn't matter how good you "could have" been if you are not on the field.

This "D" will still be STOUT with out him but I think could be a hair STOUTER with him to the degree of not even missing Gravedigger.

Isn't it a 2 year contract with Ebron.

Problem is depth on defense, a few key injuries would hurt. Would like to see UG3 play his way onto the field.

If healthy defense should be very good. Bush had a great beginning and hit the rookie wall. I expect better from him.

I think Bush expects better from Bush. I am more concerned with who is giving him and Bince a breather.

I've been hearing some pretty positive things about Ulyssis III . I'm hoping it's all true and he can make an impact as well, for depth.

idk why you call him "Bince"

I don't think our MLB situation is settled. So far everyone behind Williams and Bush are camp darlings. Same with our OLB's . I wouldn't be surprised if by the the end of Training camp we haven't brought in a vet FA. Barron is gone and Williams was behind him. I think bush steps up into that role . I think our D will take a leap this year and it will be Epic.

Bince himself calls him Bince.......................... Vince Williams referred to himself as Bince, I think in a Twitter Post, it just stuck. (Vince might have miss spelled by accident but.....)

Yeah, its because he wanted to be a part of the Killer "B's" when Ben, Bell, Brown, and Boz were going off at the same time.

Defense has a shot at being better than last year, probably won't get the # of turnovers, but Bush in year 2, Minkah in year 2, Tuitt back, Watt seems to get better every season. 2nd easiest schedule
Depth is a concern, but I'm guessing that's an issue on most teams.
I've heard Minkah saying he'd like to take on a bigger role, I just hope he doesn't start thinking he's Troy and moving around all over the place. He played that center field role so well.

He is a natural FS. He should focus in on that. He is needed in that position more than any other, which comes together well when need meets skillset.

A better defense? We are not getting the same amount of turnovers from the defense. However our schedule is soft. Depends how you look at it. Less points allowed? Likely. Less Turnovers? Likely.
