Anytime there is something like NFL 100 I kinda feel like the 70's Steelers take up all the recognition at the expense of the players from 2004-2012. There is absolutely no doubt that the 70's teams are among the greatest sport dynasties of all time and of course most of the attention should be on them. But three SB appearances and two wins in 8 years is pretty damn good. Troy Polamalu pretty much revolutionized safety play as a guy who could equally attack the run game and take away big receivers. Ben won championships and put up huge seasons with either a thin line or a lack of big play makers on offense. I would argue in '05 they had a great line, but Cedric Wilson, Randell El to complement Ward. In '09 he had good weapons but absolute **** for line. The Steelers will place no one on this list from those teams.
The 70's teams were fantastic, but there wasn't much movement then. Some of these guys really just had to play an area because there was so much talent around them, you didn't have to ever worry about the guy next to you.
