After the game you'd think everyone would be happy we won in Baltimore, but I look on Twitter and other places and people still complaining about Ben, how he's retired in his mind, he's not good anymore, etc. He has missed some reads/throws, especially the long one to Bryant yesterday.
If you take the plays Ben made and his pass catchers dropped, off the top of my head the Vance drop and the AB phantom INT that should've been a catch yesterday and the Bryant TD drop and Bell dump off drop from Chicago. Just those 4 plays that I think everyone can agree Ben made good throws and those were all drops, just those plays, if they are caught, Ben has a QB rating of 101 and a completion % of just over 66% for the season. I don't think he's playing as bad as everyone is making it sound.

As Ben continues to shake off preseason, like Bell he will gain steam. Which falls in line with Juju getting more reps, Bryant shaking off more rust and them being on the same page with each other, and Bell being the pass catcher he is capable of. And of course ol reliable AB. A lot there to work with, reps and penalties are the only thing stopping them from being explosive.

3-1 in preseason, so now that we are into the real season..........watch the improvement all around. I can see improvement from the players in every game. Ben is way better today than he was in the first game. Just take the AB pissy fit play, at the start of the season Ben would have stayed locked in on AB and got sacked where as yesterday he managed a second / possible third read and dumped avoiding a rush sack. Definately improvement by many and there is more improvement to come. Screw the nay-Sayers,.....LITERALLY.... Especially if that's a she and good looking.

Salute the nation

Ben hasn't been sharp yet this year. There could be 100 reasons why. But to see him miss easy throws over and over is getting old. I think what is getting people riled up, is that they KNOW he is better than that. We have seen him be better than that. That is why it is so frustrating.

I can't wait until this offense is on the same page. They should be terrorizing teams.

(Some) people are generally just plain stupid. Sorry, but you can't fix stupid!

Also saw 2 other plays where the ball hit Brown In the hands and he didn't make the catch like he normally does. Same people who think he sucks now would be singing his praises if he hits Bryant in stride and sees Brown on that play AB threw his tantrum over. Ben didn't play much in preseason either, I look for a break out game from the offense soon.

Just like Bell, just like Bryant, and the offensive line we all know or knew they can play better. Ben is playing ok..but we all know he can play better. Regardless of the drops or whatever just based off the eye test we all know there is another level that Ben can play at.

I think the very simple response is the QB who plays better generally wins the game in this series. Who was better yesterday? While there is certainly room to improve, it was far and away his best game.

The interception yesterday was the ref's fault! AB caught it.

I didn't know we could base statistical analysis using "if someone had caught the ball" etc. to help out the stats. What would Bell's total and YPG be without the holding calls? Maybe he isn't playing as bad either?

In general, every QB has people drop balls and every QB has odd INT's. That is why you look at things like QR in comparison rather than in a vacuum.

Ben played better yesterday, as did the whole team. People should be happy with that and the win. After all, Tomlin defeated his "coaching overlord" (LOL). Being happy with a divisional win over a rival on the road is not in some people's make up.

Lots of these games with the Rats have been within 3 points even when such stars as Dennis Dixon (may have been another back up) has played. Yet, yesterday, we have 26-9 and people, some on this board use "yeah, but if Flacco hits Perriman or Wallace doesn't drop that ball"...who gives a ****. **** happens in every game to other teams and us.

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

Hard to blame one guy as Ben. First two games a lot of penalties and drop balls. Yesterday had some more dropped balls. Receivers aren't especially getting what would be called wide open. Till yesterday Bell has not been an influence on the defense to care if we ran the ball. Yesterday was probably our best all around game so far. Really when we don't have Ben we will see how bad we are glad he is in our backfield.

I forgot we can ***** and call him out on the throws he misses assuming the wr would catch it if he did throw it, but we can't say anything about the throws he makes that should be caught, my mistake.

Dude everyone knows how big a fan of Ben you are. We go nowhere without him, that's a fact, but he can play better. He's not the only one either. For the first time in a while I think IF this defense is healthy at the end of the season I'll take my chances against anybody.

Your mistake is that you are using ifs and buts as if those don't happen to other QBs. If doesn't mean ****.

IF not for a **** ton of poor officiating several teams have different records.

the point I'm making is for Ben playing as bad as everyone says, he made the right read and throws to have a QB rating of 101 and a completion% of 66 if guys catch the ball, but it's not ok to call them out?
Yes exactly it happens to other qbs, and all those other qbs make bad reads, bad throws, too, I think some here think all those other QBs never **** up, just our guy.

By the way, 10 straight games of less than 300 yards passing for Roethlisberger

I thought Ben delivered a good game yesterday. He got everyone involved. Penalties hurt again.

Nailed it. Penalties, dropped passes, and last week the ref's made Ben's statistical performance suffer, but he has been very good.

Take away those penalties which put any offense into a hole, and a few catches that were dropped by Brown and Bryant over the course of the season, there would be little to pick at unless you play Ben on your fantasy football team.

Counter points:

Bell and Bryant are not 100% based on being bone/stone heads, and Ju-Ju is a rookie.

At current pace the Steelers will be 12-4

At current pace Ben will have thrown for 3,828 yards, with 24 TD's. and just 8 interceptions. 8 interceptions would be his second best effort as a pro.

Looking behind the numbers, penalties and drops which would have been big plays have hurt him.

I feel like Ben is not fully in sync yet. Hopefully they will continue to get better as the season goes
