So like every steelers site out there, I have no real sources, Im just logically connecting dots ... here are my top five guys who could get moved before the season starts.
1. Mason Rudolph... now this would be dependent on three things...
one, that everyone stayed healthy at qb.
Two, that they felt Howard should be qb2 ( barring an amazing preseason, they wont)
Three, another club needs a low end starter/backup by camps end
If the chance to move the guy into a place he could legit compete to start shows up, they may feel what value they can get for him is worth moving him if there is another viable qb2 on the team
2 Corliss Waitman. He had a grand run as the punter last year, and CJ is healthy, so barring injury the steelers will have a proven starter available at camps end... someone is always looking for a kicker or punter before the season starts...
3 Ben Sauls... assuming he doesnt suck... guy is getting the benefit of kicking in the same stadium he dominated in in college, and a known tough spot to kick... if he has a good offseason, the plethora of teams with kicking questions may be interested, and it would be in the steelers best interest to move him out of the division for obvious reasons...
4. Beanie Bishop.. this guy had 4 picks in limited time last year... but had some coverage hiccups... the team added a couple slot CB types that could take his place... the team also hasnt respected slot cbs in a while... so they could easily move on from the young talent... and with 4 picks as a rookie, he would get interest elsewhere.
5. A backup De/DT... adding two Dlinemen in the draft, and signing Daniel Ekuale plus getting last years pick logan lee back while only losing ogunjobi and Adams means the room is overstocked... a runstuffer like Loudermilk or vet backup like Lowery could be pushed out... or if the olb position looks really stout, a tweener DE like Leal could be deemed unnecessary.
Now none of these will bring back significant stuff... mostly conditional seventh types... but with the Draft here next year, all the capital they garner will be useful.
