Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NFL and the NFLPA are in negotiations to keep these provisions in place for this season.

They are so slow and stupid when it comes to roster moves.... its been 20 to 30 years since colleges mostly moved away from pro style offenses and development spots are woefully short in the nfl

compound that with the increased injured players due to medical science catching up with sports injuries and their long term implications axing the play through it mentality and nfl rosters were getting bludgeoned by seasons end...

virtually every other major sport has a significant development system with reserved right players and a short term ir system that allows players to get healthy without penalizing their team

now they just have to slightly bump up rosters and they will have almost caught up with the realities of this era....

I think the expanded roster is a great thing. I'm not sure but I think there should be about 5 more spots available for season roster, instead of 53 make it 58 or so.
