I hope that he gets to meet with a good long snapper and a punter.

PUNTER yes but our LS has been pretty good.

There needs to be a legitamite competition at the punter position. Berry was BOOMIN until he got boom boomed.

If we do draft a TE, I said it before, we can't look for a blocking TE that might be able to catch some. In this version of the NFL, we need a good receiving TE that can make plays and then hopefully do some decent blocking. The TE is NOT another lineman.

I Disagree. A TE is a hybrid OL/WR and he needs to be able to do both Block and Receive. Otherwise, you have an OL or a WR.

Sure, block but in this NFL, you need someone that can be a "WR" and do it well. The Steelers always look for a TE that is a blocker (OL) and if he can catch a few passes, great. We need the TE to be a weapon as well. I still say the "WR" function of the TE is now more important than the "OL" piece. You can teach a big TE that can catch to block adequately but it is much harder to teach a blocking TE to run routes and catch passes.

You're right about today's NFL. The last TE that would fit this mold was ERIC GREEN, then Heath Miller.

I'll have to look up Albert O. As he fits TOMLIN's mold for height / weight / ect.. The Steelers TE does need to block or like last season they will send out a OL man and that telegraphs pass/run play (huge advantage "D"). Our one and ONLY Randy Fitchner couldn't figure out how to mix it up enough with personal packages to fool the "D". Granted out QBs were weak but even with that OC-101 should have been way BETTER. I'll take a pass catching TE who can block close to average because if you're blocking more than "play" making then you're NOT calling the current NFL plays.

I said it before and I'll say it again.......Randy Fitchner started out good but has declined since. If he wasn't. Friends with the boss/coach he'd been terminated on any other team. SAME goes for Bubbles and as you wittnessed, once O'l Joey (CMVLT friend) was terminated, things have clicked much better there, from a coaching perspective.

now look at some both OT G and C

Add Weaver to the list of visits....

would be nice to have a sticky thread at the top listing visits if someone is willing ot maintain the visit list. just a thought.

If they sticky this one I will revise the first post with prospects later...

With a 4.49 40 Albert Okwuegbunamn might sneak into the first round with that.................... (just timed)

albert or eithier the notre dame te or the Vandy are all 3 guys that would open up the same, I think Albert is the most ready to start, moss you would only use him in passing formations thus unless you want in a ace or twin te set vannett if back and banner as your TE, this may limit how much you can do with the ace set if the team stacks the box or overloads the side the run is to.

I think Moss will be written off unless he slides to the 4th or 5th. He is too short for today's TE's. I didn't realize how short he was and I am guessing relatively slow, although I haven't seen his 40 time.

And he is nursing a fracture. So if he gets picked before day 3 I will be surprised.

this dude could be interesting...

Overview
"Big athlete with position versatility" will be a tag from some, but it's vague and lacks projection. While Gibson is a one-year wonder, his 14 career touchdowns on just 77 touches demand attention. He played more slot than running back in college, but he was a runner in high school and has an intriguing combination of size, burst, vision and power. He is a four-phase player on Day 1 with the ability to return kicks, cover them and create matchup problems for linebackers out of the backfield. The sample size is extremely limited and he needs a developmental runway, but Gibson has exciting upside as a pro.
