According to this analysis we won't be signing many if any free agents.

Omar Khan is still one of the best in the business when it comes to working the cap. No worries that he will figure out a way to make it work out in the long run.

If Ben gets an extension that will help in the short term. The key issue is Bell. Who will blink first?

Bell has no leverage what so ever. Franchise him, if he sits out this year it is his loss. Bitching about 14 mil. a year just blows my mind.

I know Chip...but for the short term it could help. The cap is estimated to go up over 25+ million by the time Ben's contract expires. So spending money now to "make more later", meaning getting more pieces together to make a run again.

One thing this cap article ignores is Shazier's 5th year option. From what I researched, It is not guaranteed unless he is rostered. That $8M comes off our books immediately. Also Mitchel's $5M wouldn't hurt...

That 14.4 MILLION sure would go a long way.

Is Mitchell gone??? Have you heard something?? I feel he needs to be gone too but also realize they may keep him as Tomlin has kept players to long in the past. What is your gut feeling on actual release for Mitchell, I know that when he came off the field from the Jax-game there would have been a pink NOTE: "Get your **** and get of the property now. Don't come back as you are fired"

I wouldn't care what depth we have, HE WOULD JUST BE GONE, period !!!!!!

Salute the nation

I heard the CBA agreement guarantees 5th year options to injured players.

You can extend and restructure. They do it every year, they ill do it this year.

Then get rid of some dead weight. Trim the fat. Axe the deadwood.

More likely to get done than not.
