watching mnf. Mingo made a play. I remembered Mingo was a top 10 pick by the Browns in 2013. go back and look at the 1st round of that draft. has there ever been a worse 1st round than this draft? including us

I've done articles on the 2009 NFL draft being the worst ever. 2013 had some flashes in the pan. I would love to have Hopkins though.

Agree , after the fact the only guys in the 1st round that I would draft in the 1st round again are Hopkins WR and Travis Frederick OL

the 2nd round had more players pan out..... dare I say L. Bell, Travis Kelce, Zach Ertz to name a few

Yep. The 2017 draft is the one that makes the current team - Watt, Juju, Sutton and Conner. Four very good players, three starters and a quasi-starter.

When you get four starters out of one draft, including an All-Pro and two Pro Bowlers, you are doing pretty damn well.

One thing I argue year after year is that when judging drafts for a team, you have to look at tge draft as a whole

Drafts are not ever the same. Each year the level of overal talent and talent by position varies greatly

You have years where a lot of underclassmen came out early the past couple years and few are coming out that year and the talent pool is drained... those years you Might draft a first rounder that would not be even close other years

In other years a bunch of talented seniors and underclassmen are all coming out and a position or the whole talent pool is so saturated that you get high end talent falling to the middle rounds...

Sutton was a solid pick as well.

Dobbs is still on the team, back after gaining some draft capital. Banner went 2 spots after Dobbs to Indy

Too bad we didn't land Kittle though. Can't believe he went in the 5th!! Wow!! Hindsight drafting and all.

What did we need Kittle for .........we had the infamous Ladarius Green ...... never mind.....lol

Geeeeez. I was trying to think of his name the other day. And I was excited when they signed him.

Not to sound like an idiot ( to late) but I own a never worn LG Jersey.

The weak 2013 class outcome still does not justify the Jarvis Jones pick.

The others 1st round busts like Mingo at least had the physical tools to succeed.

Jones was undersized and ran a 4.9 at his pro day.

Unless he miraculously developed herculean strength and deployed 100% flawless technique on every play, it wasn't going to work.

Plus, there were actually some decent CBs still on the board in Xavier Rhodes and Desmond Trufant.

His time in Pittsburgh was pretty unforgettable. There were some decent TE options in that draft year and we released Green just 3 weeks after the draft.

It is okay Blitz , we all pack on a few pounds over the years. There is no shame in never having worn a Large Jersey. Pick up and Extra Large Jersey and wear it proudly.........lol....:heh:

It's all good Blitz you can always change the name plate

Ernie Stautner originally wore #89 or Vance McDonald is an option

100%. Not only was J Jones slow, he was small and not strong either. Hated the pick. Like the players you mentioned on the board much better.
