I've heard the current Titans be compared to the 2005 Steelers, in the Pittsburgh media. One idiot even said they both relied on their running backs and strong defense on their playoff run. I'm guessing he didn't watch the 2005 Steelers playoff run, we came out throwing in the post season games, then used the run to kill the clock.

I think that 2005 team was alot better than most give them credit for. They were 7-2 and well on their way to a first round bye in the playoffs when Ben got hurt, then we lost 3 straight. Also in there Marvel was injured. That 2005 team was a much better team than this Titan team. That team got in as the 6th seed, but just because of injury, it always seems that team is looked on as it just got lucky to get in and got hot, when they were one of the best teams in football before Ben was hurt, and when he came back they were the best team in football.

That team doesn't get it's due IMO, always looked on as a team that just got hot at the right time.

If they can't score enough points to match KC, their run is done. I think KC beats them. KC should have won the whole damn thing last year except for dumb *** Dee Ford lining up offsides. Andy Reid is in line to finally get another chance at a ring.

Yep, Brady's season last year should've ended like this one, on an INT.

Derrick Henry will make sure to eat enough clock to limit offensive snaps. It's difficult to get into rythem when you're sitting on the bench for 10 minutes at a time. :)

You can limit the snaps and that game plan has been effective for them, but they aren't playing an older Brady with no receivers or a RB playing QB. They're playing against a guy who was MVP last year and is a straight gunslinger with lots of weapons. KC has a different offense than what they have been seeing out there.

And if TN doesn't score, they're ******.

And it’s impossible to score. The best defense of all time is Time of Possession. Many people don’t understand that.

Agree 100%. Know who else agreed in 2005? Bellyache.

He absolutely tanked in the final game against the Dolphins to avoid being the #3 seed, because he did not want to face the Steelers. Anybody who doubts that due to astonishing, astounding idiocy (i.e., Patsy fans) apparently forgets that Bellyache had ******* Doug Flutie drop kick an extra point in the 4th quarter, and played the 3rd string QB (Cassel) for nearly the entire game.

No way can the Titans win 2 more. They lack the talent to run on a warm field against skill players.

If Tennessee can run the ball effectively they have a chance. KC gave up 4.9 ypc during the regular season, which was among the worst in the league. Tennessee just needs to keep their offense on the field and limit KC's opportunities.

The Titans can win doing 3 things. Not easy but they need all 3:

1. Run the ball and chew up clock
2. Play action passes for scores. You have to score TDs against KC.
3. Get TOs. KC doesn't turn the ball over much but you are going to have to steal a possession of two. Onsides kick? Fake punt. But better if they are ints or fumbles.

This is the most important one. They need Mahomes to have an awful day in the turnover department and have a big play or two on special teams.

i just can't see it happening. the more i dwell on it, the more it seems this is just KC's year. they finally win another SB, over 50 years after their first

Not even close.

The Steelers were a team with an established winning culture & core from 2001:
2001: 13-3, #1 seed in AFC
2002: 10-5-1, #3 seed in AFC
2003: 6-10 — injuries lost season
2004: 15-1, #1 seed in AFC

By 2005; the Steelers were far more “elite” than the Colts were. They were a dominant & complete team with a Franchise QB.

The Titans have been an improving 9-7 level team but don’t even try to compare Tannehill to Ben... even then.

No comparison

They earned a right to write their own story. I have a hard time remembering a dominant run game like the one the Titans are displaying. As the Bus and Franco both had elite QBs to where you better not consistently load the box or it is air Jordan. To the aspect that those QBs would pass you right out of your shoes. The cheats and rats had capable run defenses. They knew the **** game plan of run it and run it some it some more. Yet that did nothing to stop them from running it right down their throats.

My 3 things were
1. Derrick Henry to the left
2. Derrick Henry to the right
3. Derrick Henry up the middle

**** are not the 2005 Steelers.
Nice underdog story, but no.

If the **** do win that would be three TIT's win...................... Does this mean I'd have to bring in the "TOTAL RECALL" ..girl.......?
