that is awesome production from your scouting team.....

It was just amazing. I noticed how often they drafted HOFers when I was researching the article on the 74 draft. Unprecedented. I don't see that ever happening again. 5 out of 6 years they drafted HOFers and 2 of those years they got more than one! That 71 draft may be the 2nd best draft they've had. Great talent all through that draft. And some big contributors too!

Great read Cope! The other HOF'ers would truly be our scouting staff/ GM/ decision makers of that time. As a very young fan back then,I loved the team, players, but I never got into the decision making as I do now. I would love to see an article slanted towards that angle in the future. Love your work!

I think that the drafts of the Chuck Noll era were instrumental in the eventual coming of the NFL combine. I think the NFL was just trying to even the field. The Steelers had great scouts back in the day.

great scouts with great connections and not above playing a bit fast and loose with game film on at least one small school WR.....

Like a lot of Steeler fans, Lambert is my favorite Steeler. but Blount is a real real close second. That guy was amazing.

Thanks Cope!!

Most on here are probably too young, but LC deserves to be in the HOF

I agree 100% He has the numbers. High production 6 Pro Bowls 2 All Pros and 4 Super Bowl wins. It would make the Steelers Drafts even better!
