Gheez, Hilton gets a 15k fine on a roughing the passer penalty, that NEVER gets called on Ben? Minkah’s horse collar penalty generated a lesser fine $11+k.

I’m surprised they didn’t eject Bud since it looked like he dislocated a clavicle on his hit.

It was a horse collar tackle. I said to myself 2 seconds after it happened, thats a flag and it won't shock me if there is a fine. With players getting hurt at an alarming rate, I believe the NFL is going to be extra harsh on foul penalties.

Ben doesn't get many roughing the passer calls. Speculation is he and Tomlin, who have had there share of fines are part of the reason as to why.

Coach, part of the reason BEN ROETHLISBERGER doesn't get some of those calls is because his whole career he has used ESCAPEABILTY as a way of extending plays. The referees don't take that away from him.

AS for the blatant stuff, it has settled down and they do call more and more but in his earlier days including the VOTE against the "rog", they let everyone have open game on him to punish for that insane vote & Millagevillevill incident.

Salute the nation

Hilton’s penalty was a Roughing the Passer. Anyone who watched the game knew Minkah’s was a HC, plus it’s....in.....my......post. Why repeat it?

What speculation? Link please....or is it more diarrhea of the mouth?

Ticky tacky in my opinion. I've stayed away because there have been some BLATANT calls MISSED by the officials against us but they OBVIOUSLY see everything we're doing on the field.

The NO CALL PI on Claypool yesterday almost got my neighbor's TV broke...:mad2:

You can chalk it up as random or realize the NFL has double standards against some people and a different set of rules for others.

Well this is false. You wrote " Gheez, Hilton gets a 15k fine on a roughing the passer penalty, that NEVER gets called on Ben " - Ike Taylor

Um, I have seen Ben get roughing the passer calls that were iffy.. You must NEVER watch those games.

It is my opinion the NFL doesn't call things evenly. If a defender's hand brushes over Tom Brady's hemet, it's likely to draw a flag. If Ben gets jacked up a second after the ball is throw, sometime there is no flag. You'd have to watch the games to understand this point.

.

If this was your post, it would have been perfect.

Ben got hit in the helmet and didn't draw a flag or a penalty, in that Denver game. I believe it was on their sack.

On the roughing the passer from Hilton. 1 and 2 steps before a QB hit is a flap of a hummingbird's wing. Real time, I thought for sure it was 1 step. On slow motion review it was 2 steps. Hilton is fast!

By rule, 2 steps is roughing after the ball is released, so I can't fault the penalty.

The fine would have to show me there was intent to hurt or injure the QB. I did not see that in the hit Hilton delivered. He pulled up and could have hit that QB a lot harder. I disagree strongly with assessing that play was fineable.

For the love of God, get some reading comprehension lessons. The type of rough calls that get called against Pitt players (i.e. Hilton’s) rarely if ever gets called for Ben. The love tap by Hilton would never be called RTP against Ben.

If you had any higher understanding of English composition you would know my post is a statement by the writer. Unlike you, who posits “speculation” when you later state it’s your “opinion”. Those are two different word usage and exhibits one of two scenarios:

A. You got caught in stating a lie, or
B. You have a serious lack of reading comprehension.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt on the latter, since you are two ignorant to purposely concoct A.

Also, if I’m Ike Taylor, why are you even arguing with me? I know more about football than you would amass in three lifetimes.

Yet the league did nothing to the three players first week that threw punches and hit an official plus ejected. Time for Rooney to stand up for his players.

Rooney should be smart enough to know that the Steelers thanks to Tomlin and Ben ( Other like Brown and Bell don't help ) aren't going to get the calls as often. Even a bone head like Ike Kelly sees, it but arguing with the NFL and Roger isn't going to help.

On MNF, I saw Harbaugh aggressively yelling and making contact with an official. Where was the ejection?

yep.

The sanctimonious coach was screaming and spittin on the nearest official when the Rats got that goofy penalty on offense.

There you go again, implying Tomlin and Ben are the reason for non calls.

Please enlighten us Dumb *** as to why and how the Commish/league performs this statement. You won’t because you can’t and you can’t because there’s no proof to think so. I will say, there is preferential treatment for certain players. Brady, Rodgers, Brees and to an extent Rivers.
