There are playoff odds for teams that start 0-2 and they are not good. I'd imagine 0-2-1 would be very close to 0-3, from an odds standpoint.

Since 2007, 91 teams have started 0-2. Only 10 (10.9 percent) of them turned it around to make the playoffs and one of those (the 2008 Chargers) made it with an 8-8 record

Well they are 0- 1 and 1.

I'd imagine stats wouldn't teach you how to count.

After the first 2 weeks, I think we are in for more of the same next week in Tampa. I think they are going to light our D up. The O will need to score 40 just to have a chance in the game and, like this week, it won't be enough.

As a long time fan I have learned not to jump to conclusions about this team in the first 8 games of the season. I will wait to be to panicked until a piece of sky hits me in the eye.

When the D sets records in futility, you can see the season will not end as desired.

We desire SB rings not playoff participation trophies.

I think we all just have to lower our expectaions

yet again.

I will wait to be panicked when the doc says I have a couple weeks left but this team is in serious trouble. Not that that is a big deal unto itself anyways

I say it is still too early to write them
Off. Hell I remember watching a great defense get killed in Pittsburgh during the season by the Vikings then watching Neil O’Donnell grow the big game away. It is way way to early to write this team off with the offense we have.

I may be wrong but I don't see Rod Woodson, Greg Lloyd, Kevin Greene or Carnell Lake on this team. I don't even think there's a Jason Gildong.

PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS! (Jim Mora, thanks for that one)
Seriously Coach, let’s just take it week per week and concentrate on winning our first game next Monday night.

I would say we have a few good ones, Watt, Heyward, Tuitt, Haden when healthy. Watt is going to be better than Gildong.

I agree all except Tuitt. He disappears far too often.

And Haden might be too injury prone to qualify.

I tell you though today opened some eyes on true deficiencies.

Burns and Davis are trending in the wrong direction. Ditto Dupree...............

I am not sure about other posters on here but for me this team isn't a contender. we'll need a bad season for changes to happen and get some high draft picks. what's the point of making the post season if we're one and done?

This defense will not stop anyone. We need LBers.. we need three of them...as far as im concerned Watt is the only LBer worth keeping...rest needs upgraded.

We also need a true NT.... 3 LBers and a NT will turn this defense around.

This is the NFL, SIL, not MLB. You start 0-2-1, your chances of being a meaningful team are nearing zero.

Remember that great job coach Mikey did when his team started off 0-4??? Yeah, they finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

But we aren’t 0-2-1. If we are then this thread would make sense.

Yeah, I hear 'ya, but the simple fact of the matter is that the Steelers are going on the road to face a team that is scoring 40 points per game.

Jesus @#$%ing Christ, the Steelers lost AT HOME to a Tampa team quarterbacked by Mike Glennon.

So we go to Tampa in hot weather and expect to have a better outcome? Yeah, I am hopeful.

But realistic. Mike Tomlin's defense could not stop a quality QB if a game depended on it.

Since that is the case in every game, and every quality NFL QB shred Mikey's defense.

Keep around here and that will happen sooner than you think...................

Seems like the more you count us out in a game the more likely we are to win Patriots excluded. It is the games we should win I worry about usually.

But let's be honest here. If the team was 0-14-1, you'd be on here saying "but guys, we're not 0-15-1 yet, let's just chill... "

Yeah um no. I would at point be watching hockey and still laughing at my Bengals friends and their lack of trophies.

I normally don't either but this team actually looks worse than last year, especially with Haden, our No. 1 (by far) CB out. Tampa has put up a lot of points in their first 2 games and I see no reason our D can stop them in their own house. Plus, we get road Ben.
