The Killer Bee's HAD enough elite talent to overcome poor coaching and a trainwreck defense. The penny pinching Steelers underestimated the value of their stars. No chemistry, and a divided locker room, and a pissed off star wideout. We could have used a running game yesterday but they got cheap and didn't want to spend the money to keep the team together for one last run. Bell shreds KC
Losing every game this season is what they deserve for keeping Tomlin and co around, and not paying the guys that produce.
Just remember the Steelers did this to themselves.

I was going to buy tickets for the Tampa and Jacksonville games, nah, their prices keep rising for some reason, guess I will save the cash and watch those losses at home

Steelers offered ME'veon damn good money, they weren't cheap. He just turned them down.

Lot of issues penny pinching isn't one.

Penny pinching? How much cap space do they have? They re-structured how many contracts to free up more money. Cheap is not a word that is associated with this Pittsburgh sports franchise.

Below-the-line talent and coaching is another conversation all together.

Even though Conner had a decent game running the ball, they were behind early in the first half and then went down again right out of the gate in the 2nd Half. Down 21-0 and then 42-28 wouldn't have mattered much if Bell was in there. Ben had to air it out and often. The defense is a big problem. Special Teams is another problem. The offense is really the least of their worries right now. Well, other than AB acting like a spoiled brat on the sidelines.

Yeah tose ******* are only paying ab 17 mill and poor bell would starve on the 14mill franchise tag. He would probaly have to get a second job just to make ends meet.

High cost of "rapIN"

Salute the nation

If Bell doesn't want to be paid more than any NFL running back this season, it's his choice. And I'm fine with him waiting around until he is not longer making the most money this season.

Management offered him more than fair market value. 4 to 5 million more than any other running back. This is Bell's fault. He divided the locker room . He provided the distractions with his rap career and Twitter feed. He could of accepted the tag and made 14.5 million dollars, once again far more than any back at the time. If he really wants to be a team player, he should sign his tag and learn how to play defensive back. He can't be any worse than Burns.

This team was doomed the moment Bell's holdout became real.

He was 80% of our offense, everything worked around him.

Now teams smother AB and ignore our running game, a complete disaster come true with our pathetic overrated fat and slow defense.

Dungy calling out Tomlin - ha ha!

Dungy on Steelers defense: 'Tomlin needs to get that fixed'

Tony Dungy sees a defense that he doesn’t recognize.

The Steel Curtain, it isn’t.

After the Steelers surrendered six touchdown passes in a 42-37 loss Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs, Dungy expressed his concern on NBC’s “Football Night in America” in his role as studio analyst.

“It’s bad, and it has nothing to do with Le’Veon Bell not being there,” Dungy said. “The defensive side of the ball — missed tackle after missed tackle, blown coverages, guys running wide open, no discipline on defense.

“Mike Tomlin needs to get that fixed.”

I think the smothering AB has more to do with a lack of a deep threat WR than with Bell not being here. Don't get me wrong I'm really liking Juju and Washington so far, but we lack that 'take the top of the D' type WR like Wallace and Bryant were. Until Ben starts connecting with Juju or Washington on the 1v1 deep balls, there's no reason for teams to keep a safety or two away from AB.

Our rushing attack was terrible yesterday. 13 carries for 33 yards, averaging 2.5 ypc. Wow. One-dimensional offense cannot get it done!

The first game, sure. This last game? "decent" is waaaay overstating it.

True, but when your defense puts you in 21-0 hole, it kind of takes the sizzle out of the running game.

8 rushes
17 yards

sigh

2 of those carries were from the 1 yard line at the goaline and the 2nd one he punched it in for a powerful 1 yard TD. Another carry was on a 1st and 10 in a 2 TE formation when the Chiefs knew a run was coming and sent the house and blew up the play in the backfield for -3 yards...Conner didn't stand a chance. That leaves a whopping 5 more carries in which he did gain 19 yards which is average but considering the running game never had a rhythm, it's not bad like some are suggesting.

He also added a respectable 5 catches for 48 yards with a spin move that was a thing of beauty.

It's easy to look at the line and say it was a bad game for him, but he looked every bit as explosive as the first game, just without the opportunities on the ground.

so, 2 for 1 yard each, one for 9 yards and 5 for six yards
i dont think anyone is saying Conner is the issue. but if we cannot have a semblance of running, then it makes the passing game more difficult. Ben was off early, even though he wanted to go deep. if the defense doesnt fully know if we're going to run or pass, it makes it easier for the offense. as evidence of this, look at our defense in every game.

BigBen, Bell would have been useless against KC. It took him 3 - 4 games last season to get started and he has no motivation this year except to keep from getting injured and getting his 6 games in. I doubt if we get any serious production out of him this year, even if he comes in for the last 6 games. Look how bad Ben played in game 1 with hardly any preseason experience.

Obviously you didn't watch last weeks game or this weeks. Conner tore things up last week. This week they seemed to not have him in the game plan. He had 8 carries total. They ran once or twice early and he was hit in the backfield - not his problem. It's the lines problem. The same thing happens with Bell all the time. They didn't even try to run early and then they got behind by 21 and had to throw the rest of the game. Conner had 5 catches for almost 50 yards and one was on a crucial 3rd down for a 1st. Bell would have made no difference in either game. We have enough weapons all over the field. We almost won without him and with Ben giving the ball away 5 times and we put up 37 yesterday without Bell and without even trying to establish any kind of running game. We do not need Bell.

Might want to look at the NFL rushing leaders, not a star on them. The NFL is all about the passing game today. Don't need the running game to score points .

He had 191 yards and a touchdown against them last season, and 170 yards against kc the year before. I don't think he's ever finished a game with 17 yards of rushing and 2.1 yd per carry.
You beat a team like KC by running the ball and keeping your defense off the field.
