Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's..........week 12.............@ Bears.....

Game Ball
Warner and Gainwell. The are an excellent tandem. Doesn’t matter who the starter is among the 2 or who gets more reps. That’s talk show banter. They are both effective when in the game.
Watt- sack fumble was great

Game Goats
Rudolph. He looked like the Mason from Tennessee and 2019. He was staring at half of the field. Didn’t turn his head to see anyone else get open. This may have been his last game as a Steeler. He’s been a good guy but we saw what he’s capable of. Hopefully Thompson can get back and be the backup. The argument that Rudolph is as good as Rodgers ended today.
Mike Tomlin. Your team was playing backup interior linebacker group and a defense that you can control the ball. You let Williams pick you apart like nothing. I would put Art Smith, Teryl Austin and Danny Smith here but you are the one who tells them what he wants to do with the ball. The one who signs off on the game plan.
FUs to Mike Tomlin

I didn’t see the self beating as clearly as you, perhaps the Bears’ adjustments and in-game coaching decisions had something to do with them winning & us losing.

How many missed opportunities did you see today?

Again, coaches coach - players play; but the culmination of not having (and I have tight about this ever since the game ended) a TRUE #1 WR - it has stifled this offense.

DK is NOT a WR1. Period then end.

I'm not mad or delusional this is just where we are. I do believe that had Rodgers been healthy, the outcome is different.

And then I went back and thought about the recovered apple for a TD on TJ's so in the end zone. Strategically, we should have taken the safety instead of the TD. Why? You get the ball back and keep Caleb on the bench longer - all hypothetical but the running game plan was above the line and punting didn't occur until the 2nd half - methinks that played a part of keeping the Bears in the game.

Welp, hopefully the game against the Bills is better???

Again it is just a football game.
Our coaches our players all will be on script.
One of them will say it is unacceptable.
One of them will say communication
One of them will say the players have to do better.

I think the first thing linguists translated from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics following discovery of the Rosetta stone was a small blurb from the Cairo Post-Gazette that said, "Coach T. is looking to solve the communication issues."

FU Art Nutting for building this car
FU Mike Tomlin for driving this car

Nothing else matters as these two will top the FU list for the foreseeable future

The only thing left to hope for is an end to Tomlin’s streak of irrelevance and maybe dodging the season ending WC embarrassment by flat out handing the division to the Rats…this team is a joke

I did see some berm, but wasn’t letting all the blame go to the players. Our same play / same defense / no adjustment & conservative mentality all con tribute to coaching.

The Steelers have last place in least offensive plays for season and last place in most defensive play for season. That’s not a singular issue.

EDIt: FULLY agree on that #1 WR, and if DK is considered our #1 then the #2 wasn’t addressed properly. Roman Wilson could be that guy, but our coaching has seen to it (until just recently) that we don’t know what we have in his capabilities.

I just want a higher standard than just the non-losing season.

Might add Jaylen Warren and the long-snapper as well. Both have played amicably.

Next week the Steelers will host the Buffalo Bills who are not a very good football team.
Do what now?

The 7-4 Bills have the #3 offense in the NFL, the #1 passing defense in the NFL, and the reigning NFL MVP at the quarterback position. Sure, they've got some weaknesses like a very poor run defense and wide receiver depth, but they are always fun to watch and I guarantee you they will be involved in some entertaining playoff games, like usual.

You know who's not a very good football team? The Steelers.
