As the Aiyuk Turns part 2…

Nah! Don’t need another problem! He gets his contract and can’t even show up to meetings.
Got rid of one head case don’t need another.
Who knows if this guy can even play after destroying his knee.

ACL MCL PCL is pretty much done. Glad that trade never happened.

Yeah, but it's impossible to say whether the injury still happens if he's playing for the Steelers.

I'd probably rather have Metcalf than a healthy Aiyuk anyway.

Metcalf is much more explosive, and it's not like the Steelers would have gotten the most out of Aiyuk either.

The Steelers have one of the lowest average depth of targets in the league since 2020, much to the frustrations of their WRs during that time.

It doesn't seem to matter who is calling the plays or throwing the ball.

He apparently took the the " L. Bell Financial Freedom" course and refused to attend meetings. He just gave back all his guaranteed money by doing that and violating his contract terms...when he could have just faked an injury if he didnt want to play. Wow...don't know if he has a concussion history but that sounds AB level nutty.

Offer him at least 50 million a season with a 300 million dollar signing bonus.

Get it done.🤠

I’d sign for 1/2 that and NOT a penny more…………. !!!

Agreed with all of it. I also think Aiyuk was possibly a one year wonder.

GP the head case? or the men that could not deal with a kid...he was a kid and admits it and acted like it..but has talent way beyond anyone in our wr room. as for Aiyuk...lets not spend picks or money that we are going to need if miraculous things do not happen soon.

That's pretty much game over. He's lucky he hit the jackpot the year before.

He quit showing up for meetings and things of that nature. SF says that voids the contract and says that’s ok as he wants to move on……….

There’s not another team in the league that will offer him that kind of money,….. even if in full health.

Stunts catch up with yaz.!

If they cut him, and they probably wont, hed be subject to waivers I think.

He would never make it to us... too many teams need wrs
Are any teams going to be willing to take on that contract though given the injuries he is coming off? Whilst the $22m+ option bonus is no longer guaranteed, I assume it is still payable if he is playing under that contract in 2026.

Reading a couple of articles there seems to be more to this than a malcontent player. The guarantee was apparently voided by San Fran back at training camp, and has only now become public. It appears San Fran haven't exactly been enamoured with either the size of the contract or the the time it took for Aiyuk to come to an agreement. Certainly not turning up to meetings etc is not a good look, but possibly there are more sides to this story than just Aiyuk not turning up to meetings (i.e Aiyuk's side and the truth). Not sure this is comparable to AB or Pickens as so many of you want to compare him to, as it seems to be a contract disagreement, rather than general boneheaded bahviour - mostly on the field in Pickens case, and off the field in AB's case.

But was too ****** dumb to hold onto the ticket.
He has made $48m on the contract already. Not everything is about maximising money. Maybe he feels he is in a toxic environment and values getting out more than money. It certainly seems there is more to this than just Aiyuk not turing up to meetings - he did ask for a trade before signing the contract, so maybe there were other issues that the money ultimately didn't compensate for.

Give me AB with his ankle monitor over this dude.

Last I checked……… he’s innocent until proven guilty……… currently monitor free……

It’s convincing a Judge he’s not a flight risk and should be let out on work release.
