I can't say with 100% certainty, but my guess is that they still use it because it is extraordinarily reliable, and it is big enough to where it is outfitted electronically similar AF1, but on a much smaller scale so the president can maintain situational awareness in an emergency until he reaches AF1 to get out of dodge.

The fleet is in the process of an upgrade, with the VH-92 and VH-60 helicopters replacing the previous aging fleet. The VH-92 made it's inaugural flight in August of last year, flying Joe Biden from O'Hare to Soldier field.

In all seriousness, thanks for the insight Sarge. It would help the optics to have POTUS flying away in something bad *** rather than something that looks like a whale with a turbo prop attached to its dorsal fin

She's the black hole of crap. I can't believe that there are people who can put up with her sliminess. She is not the reason this nation is crap. She is a person of note because this nation was already crap. Otherwise, the likes of her would be on the streets, not in any position of power.
