Claypool to Chicago for 2nd Rounder

Right but he is not a ufa next year… we could have waited till the draft and gotten a minimum of a second… there aint **** on the UFA wr market save for some old dudes
I think he is in his peak of trade value, a couple of good games in a row. His stock can go down quickly with this ****** offense.

Looking at wr trades, barring him commiting an off field faux pas, nothing he would do could lower his value

He was a 6’4 guy who ran 4.4… he could not catch a pass all year and be worth a second to a speed and size ***** coach… hell this is just a tad over what the giants bust first rounder got

Not sold this was a genius move, defenses are still doing to double Pickens, occupy Friermuth with blocking, jams Sims hard on the line and cover Johnson one on one and hope for drops. As much as Claypool was a creampuff, when he got a burr in his saddle he was difficult to cover and bring down. Steelers have given him a reason to play ****ed off for the rest of the season, causing that original #2 to lose value throughout the season. Plus for the Bears, neutral for the Steelers, they will need a big bodied receiver, hope they draft some JUMBOs with attitude!

Salute the Nation

Claypuff for the Bears second round pick is a great move. He’s nothing special and for this premium of a pick, it was the right move.
We need premium draft capital so we can add young talent to both OL and DL.

Now we have 5 picks in the upcoming draft. Only 5.

I don’t think there’s good reason to think the Steelers could have gotten more for Claypool on draft day than they can right now, rather they may have gotten less with teams having the option of free agency and the draft to pick up receivers.

Yeah, well when all your drafted wrs turn out the same, the head guy best get some serious heat
Oh I agree this team has a culture problem that is absolutely attributed to the Head coach and the owner. They are the ones that set the tone. They are 1000% the ones to blame.

Give me a rookie receiver in the first round over Claypool. Imagine an opposing team fan base if they traded a first for Claypool, they'd be ready to run him out of town. I'm stunned they got a second for him, very good value. I also think now that he's out of this system he has a better chance at success...but unfortunately he is going to another team that doesn't know how to run an offense.

Not sure I follow- because the Bengals had one of the worst O-Lines in the game last year and made it to the SB lol. KC also is known for having a bad line.

I think in todays game- exceptional QB and WR play can largely overcome poor line play. This aint your daddy's 'ground-and-pound' era.
The bungles got smashed in the superbowl, so did kc. Because of a **** OL against a top defense.

Whatever you think of the Claypool deal take a look at the Jakson deal. Unbelievable. They took on 13 million 9 million dead for a guy the Commanders don't want.

they have the cap space for now. You can try him out for the rest of the year and if you like him, restructure his deal.

Looks like the Bears with Fields are going to copy the Eagles/Hurts. Doubt it works out so well with them, but they have a potentially gifted WR who was stymied in Pittsburgh.

right?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
they think they got THIS dude:

Bears sit at 3-5....they traded away their 2 best Defenders in Smith and Quinn....let's hope they continue to stink....an early 2nd rounder for Claypool is a no Brainer at this point in our rebuilding process.
Now we can get TWO OL in the 2nd round!!!

Yeah, I figured the Bears would have stipulated that the pick would be the later of the two 2nd rounders.

so our WRs are:

DJ
Pickens
Boykins
Sims
Cody White

any chance we try to get Tyler Vaughns to come back?
