should never have mattered. Diontae killed the whole game. Even with Mason's TERRIBLE play, it should have ended soon after Diontae caught that ball and made that run, but apparently he doesnt think its important to protect the ball and he was running with it like a normal every day game with nothing to lose. Just absolutely stupid. Not thinking,This team never thinks, They have terrible football IQ. They play hard, they do. They have some good players like Najee, TJ, Heyward, but kill themselves with their stupidity.

Even the lowly DET Lions when they caught a pass late in the game in the OT held the ball with 2 hands. They may not be a nimble holding it that way but they dont fumble . This team is so dumb. They do not value the ball and it cost them a game today. Thanks Diontae
What do you mean it shouldn’t have mattered. Of course it ******* matters. Obviously you Don’t like Diontae, and favour Pat. He had a **** game today, and yes that fumble mattered. Diontae was trying to make a play and his fumble mattered too. Killed the whole game. lol.

oh yeah, Muth's fumble mattered at that time. Im saying that idiot Diontae had made a great play but stupidly did not protect the ball. He should have protected it and Boz would have ended the game a couple plays later. Im saying if Diontae doesnt fumble, Muth doesnt fumble because the game has been over for 30-45 mins. Diontae is a good receiver. I like what he can do, but he does not protect the ball and it cost the game today. Trying to make a great play even greater is fine but remember that ITS IN OVERTIME. Dont take a chance of losing the ball and I dont think Diontae even gave protecting the ball a sec's thought. I watch other teams we play throw to receivers and they turn and run into traffic and they put two hands on the ball especially late in the game. Steelers receivers NEVER do that. NEVER and it cost them the game. Boz could have ended the game shortly after Diontae's play but he didnt get the chance because of stupidity.

Diontae fumbled at the DET 42. Boz needed just a few more yards and the game would have been over.

That overtime was enough to make any man cry. Could anything more gone wrong. Still say our coaches teach nothing, Protect the ball you made good gain protect the ball. Bush needs to be benched, I do not know what happened to him. Receiver all game could not get open why why why. Detroit could not throw the ball and the receivers were open when they did. Harris had to work to get any yards all on his own. Does anyone run block on this team.. Way to many things to ***** about and against an 0-8 team. Typical Tomlins coaching of allowing a team as this to run all over you. Typical second half kick off run run run TD, The hope is gone. One thing for sure you get a hint of what this team will be when Ben is gone. Ben has nothing to do with lack of blocking, lack of receivers getting open and the defense that was hot and cold

Well, anyone reporting a heart attach ?

Allthough I want a victory every time out things like this happen. We've been down this road before weather it be play calling / ST **** coverage / fumbles / inadequate coaching / the whole array. What will change................ absolutely nothing except the day.

One of the main problems is the low investment into the OL completely down the line. NOT one single quality pick and or castoffs. The two rookies are doing well for what can be expected but believe me they are not playing caliber OL play. Dotson is playing below the line as well as the rest. Okorafor is below the line. Coach Klemm seemed to be a no fuss front row coach but it is not transitioning to the field of play,..... currently. Maybe he just doesn't have the horses to acheive.

WRs are lacking even on a good day. We have two legit (DJ & 1/2 Washington and 1/2 miller on the inactive).

DEFENSE, where is it? Week in and week out they have their discrepancies but seem to not live up to the billing. Today they sure didn't.

Coaching appears to be the weakest link pending on who actually is making the calls. (defense seems to have conveinent 2-DCs) Offense has an unproven OC who seems to think his players need to fit this square peg or else. STs coach absolutely seems to find ways to suck (should have been replaced years ago but being a friend seems to keep him sticking)

RENEGADE is totally out ******* played and wore out, not up for question.

The one main thing going for us is the terrible towell proceeds still go to help those less fortunate so keep buying those towels.

Salute the nation

all valid points. The problem overall has been the OLine. Just look at every offensive play.Look at how the defenders are almost waiting for Najee when he gets the ball. Najee has to stop immediately and see where to go then restart and ANY NFL team has players who can close on a stopped RB FAST. The fact that he gets what he does is a tribute to his strength and determination. The OLine makes it where Najee has become a human tackling dummy. I bet he is so so sore after a game. He is young but this season is going to age him quickly. If we still had JConner or still ran Snell or McFarland to whoever, they would get even less yardage. Najee earns ALL his yards just about on his own. My god, if this line could even block mediocrely, Najee would get 110 yards every game.

Today, I didnt see the DET DLinemen get to Mason that much, so he didnt need to be that mobile. I think he did have one big run. But hell, Ben could have gotten those throws off and he would have made more than Mason did even in the rain. There was no zip on the ball and when he had a chance to make a big play, Mason actually did put some zip on a pass to Diontae who was all of 7 yards away and it was TOO hard. Had to punt after that. Just terrible terrible.

One of the worst teams in the NFL and only 16 points to show for it? Sorry that is the Mason that isn't accurate enough. For me I am a late entry in the dislike sweepstakes, but I have seen enough from him.
The guy is Laundry 2.0 the moose out front should have told folks who thought otherwise. He's a backup QB... Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Ya. Let's be honest. Diontae is mediocre at best. He just happens to be the best we have available to us at the moment. Kind of like a strip club in a town of 2000. You take what you can get.

He aint leading the league in any categories, know what I mean?

Seriously. Who on this offensive team is extraordinary aside from Ben. And let's be honest, it's the shadow of Ben that's extraordinary. Current Ben... well again, he's the best we got by far.

Steelers can certainly be as hapless as the Lions, but when playing the Lions?
That's the saddest kind of haplessness...

To be honest, Rudolph played about as I expected and some of his worst seemed to come during the heavy rain.

But the inability to stop the run when THAT WAS THE ONLY PLAY CALL THEY HAD???!!?

And the turnovers were just more slop on a sloppy-assed game.

Idk. That game was sloppy and ugly as hell. I watched the second half and it was bad
I listened to the first 3/4+ while cleaning out the gutters and doing yardwork with the wife... Sounded ugly except for the beginning when it sounded like the Steelers drove the field with no problem. Figured it would be a cake walk...Nope

The nearest Steelers bar.
Other than that, not a bad game

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?

"I watched the flaccid joke of an effort against an 0-8 Lions team on their way to getting the #1 pick, and to be honest, I'd rather return to Ford's Theater with Abe for another play than watch another Steelers game."
- Mary Todd Lincoln

One positive note: midway through the 2nd quarter, I'd had enough and mowed the lawn during a lot of the 2nd quarter and halftime. New house, new lawn, new mower and lawn looks great.

Way to turn that frown upside down.

Najee .. Damn shame they had Mason throw the ball over 45 times in the rain and didn't rely on Najee, who was avg 5.0 ypc.

Najee gets a few extra yards on a carry. How often does Najee break 20 or 30 yard runs or break TDs?
Sorry man. Right now (and I know, it will freak you the **** out.) Connor had better numbers.

I like Najee. I think he's a ******' gamer. But Najee aint going to carry this team.

as bad as Ben has been, I dont think he would have missed the passes that Mason did.

But turning the ball over 3 more times than your opponent will kill you . Thanks Diontae.
Huh? He misses them every week.

Doesn't freak me out because last year's line was better than this year's line. And, Connor's numbers would look better because he was only available for part of the season. The workload Najee is getting? Connor would die on the field.
THIS game should not have been put in Mason Rudolph's hands almost 50 times. 50 times. smh

Even if Freiermuth hadn't fumbled, it was probably game over with him getting tackled in bounds. Horrible playcalling
Yeah...I am about finished with the playcalling that we run game in and game out. We are handcuffing ourselves.

Man you hate to see Muthhh fumble there. So close but a tie against a winless team. Vintage Steelers. For how bad that run D was the D still held them to 16 . That is enough to win a football game.
Yeah. For some reason, it took our coach 3 quarters to figure out that Goff couldn't throw. Coming out in the 3rd we should have stacked the box and made Goff throw. Nope. Not until the fourth anyways.

We're fortunate that Detroit didn't really seem that interested in winning.

I think Conner would probably be on IR now if he had touched the ball as often as Najee.
