Yes coolie has been drinking...but

okay so I've had a few glasses of Rye so I could do what cope is too weak now to do and post in his drunk cope thread for him

but.....I saw something earlier that I felt should be in my own drunken thread

We all hate the Pro Bowl, it is a total waste of airtime

so instead have the two teams with the shittiest records play a game to see who gets the #1 pick....

so at least the game means something and two fanbases will give a **** about it....it would have to be more entertaining than the Pro Bowl

So the winner gets the #1 pick? Kind of shows they are kind of less deserving. Then if any major injury would happen. Maybe if I was drinking I would like the idea more. Be right back...... :smile2:

Does the winner or loser of said game get the first pick? It matters. If the loser gets the #1 pick, it might just be uglier than the pro bowl. Does the other team in this game get the second pick?
 
this thread really gets one thinking. which causes Americans to drink more, the covid shut downs our the postponement of Steeler games?

I like it. Only issue I see is that will the QB of a bad team really try to win so the team can draft his replacement? Maybe only if it's the Bungles.
 
Just pay the winning team $50,000 each per player and give the loser $5,000 each. Then we'll see a football game the players care about.

true, but the guy would likely know what lay ahead and want to play well to showcase himself for a job elsewhere the next year

I have zero interest in watching the Jets play the Jaguars a month after their season ends. Besdies would their free agents even bother to show up? Or anyone with an injury? It would be BAD Football.


I'd much rather see an NBA / NFL lottery-style draft where all the teams who didn't make the playoffs get a weight chance for the #1 , #2, and #3 overall pick based on where they finished, to be drawn at halftime of the Pro bowl. Now I'd watch that one. IMO, the Steelers might never get the first pick in our lifetime. Well if you were born before 1970, it happened.


I do believe the really bad teams go into tank mode for a few games to secure a top pick. A lottery system is needed.

it might be bad football...but so is the Pro Bowl

I like it Coolie, but what if one team is 0-16 and there are two teams that finish 2-14?
How do you decide who plays in the toilet bowl?

The same way the NFL always decides the draft pecking order..
