23 Ratbird players ruled out for Tuesday's Game due to CoVid-19 Positive tests......

Should this game even be played at this point? You're not going to tell me that no other players on the Ratbird roster are positive. Including coaches they've had 26 positive tests for CoVid-19. This could lead to widespread infections on our Steelers team after the game Tuesday. Not sure how I feel about this one going down Tuesday night. I love how the NFL gave the Ratbirds an extra day off and moved their game to Monday yet they didn't do the same for the Steelers. Does Goodell's hate for the Steelers go so far as to put our entire team at risk for Ratbird CoVid? Not sure how I feel about this game but I'm betting Goodell makes this game take place Tuesday night.....what is everyone else think about this game taking place?


UPDATE - Sunday Night Willie Snead WR for the Ratbirds tested positive! That's makes 23 Ratbirds Positive with CoVid-19

They pretty much have to play the game, even if both teams are reduced to fielding their practice squads.

Not playing it would create a potential cluster **** between the teams competing with the Steelers and Ravens for playoff positioning.
 
If we lose this game we will never ever hear the end of it.....

I keep fearing that the Governor Is going to open his ******* philly mouth and ban them from playing it or some other ******* stupidity ...

Getting through this with a win is immensely important especially with covid threatening every week here on out...

Yes they should play.
Players testing positive won't play, players testing negative can play. How are the Steelers at risk?

Or am I missing something?

They run the risk of contracting Ratbird CoVid from the Rats players. No way those players had no contact with the CoVid Positive Ratbirds.

Maybe I just don't fully understand the virus itself and or the testing protocol. So if player A had contact with player B that was COVID positive, player A can still transmit the virus even if he tested negative?

Close contact is deemed to be 15 minutes of cumulative contact in a 24 hour period. I wonder what the players would say about their willingness to take that on that risk of exposure and then potentially pass it on to their family and loved ones. How many of us would?

Coolie, I'd think we would have heard about ant in game transmission if it had happened, in any sport.

But maybe Mr Science can quantify.

Certainly proving an in game transmission would be difficult to prove even if it did happen. That said, I have heard consistently since August from various doctors that on field exposure a very unlikely risk of transmission. The primary vector of transmission seems to be close contact for extend time (15 or 20m) in an enclosed space. Alas, this thing is still less than a year old - I am not convinced the science around this thing is anywhere near final.

No, but the Ravens believe Lamar got it from the Center on Sunday. the NFL said no way. but to answer your question No

Its no different than the science on any other respiratory virus of the same size... absolutely nothing we are doing is based on that science... masks may reduce it slightly. It doesn’t reduce it completely. Outside its very difficult to see a viral load with enough to infect someone being transmitted... it can happen, but the math is very improbable...
i mean close contact face to face conversations Maybe... but just being close to them is not likely

There are a ton of sketchy things about this virus....
Its very unlikely to be transmitted by asymptomatic people... the basis for that theory was a disproven german paper where the initial contact had symptoms but hid it... it just perforated society enough that were treat it as such...

There are three or four tests they should do for this... the initial swab test, tested at two different cycle Stages so you get a low and high Sensitivity... right now its biased high so there are a ton of false positives

A blood test to determine antibodies and who is susceptible

And for any positives the test where they introduce the potential virus to lung tissue cells to see if its viable and contagious

Also the test for positives that determine general similarities of strains to see if it’s all from one contagious outbreak or several different ones....

I assume his *** was wearing a "mask"...i mean at least pants.

More likely, the center breathed on the ball then got on QB's hands who then licked his fingers or rubbed his face. Then they went parking after the game.
 
If the games are a protest of some sort they all should be immune to the virus. Or so I heard all summer.

I believe data show low risk of in game transmission, again based on data from this season. I heard that somewhere probably on NFL radio.
 
I mean two things should be noted... the first is while masks are the focus... hand washing and sanitation are still bigger issues... the eyes are a huge transmission point and people rub them all the time... plus touch food... that needs to be a bigger point of emphasis like it was in the beginning

Secondly studies show after you have had covid you are probably immune for at least six months... so when acteam has this kind of outbreaks its Much less likely to happen again
