Debate ? What debate ?

I can't imagine anyone is excited for this **** show. It is doubly cringe worthy based

It will basically be two crotchety old men, one in love with himself and one with early stage dementia talking over each other and never really answering the question directly. Debates these days are about one step down from The Jerry Springer show.

I would call it political theatre, but it isn't even that anymore. Debates, this year anyway, are useless to the extent that I feel like everyone knows where the two stand and everyone knows who they are voting for and watching these two trying to get zingers on the other isn't going to change that.

I mean, I guess you could turn it into a drinking game or something as I have seen suggested on FB. Aside from wanting to pickle your liver, I can't come up with another reason to watch.

Biden can't get a prepared question right from the media. He mixes up numbers, facts, names, placed and sometimes is just too perplex to answer the question.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm expecting. Instead of a debate on issues, it will be a couple hour insult fest with a continuous barrage of political slant and demeaning characterizations. Another good drinking game would be to count all the false accusations, blatant lies and cover-ups. I actually thought there would be a debate until I heard some of Biden's commercials. No way this will turn out to be anything but a **** show.

Biden will be attacking Trump on everything from Russia, covid response, tax records, business deals and minority bias.

Then Trump will parry with personal assaults on character, family ties to crime, productivity in office and a slam or two about basement dwelling and his lack of cognitive functioning.

I doubt I make it half way through.....we'll see.

Ohh...and Sarge........watch that 'crotchety old men' stuff OK? We have feelings too.

"Let me be clear" is the typical placeholder, but with Biden, anything goes.

Sarge, always enjoy your posts and your independently-critical mind. But there's something you've not touched on here/left out completely, which is really not fair to Trump at all, and that is -- Biden will get a pass from everyone in the media (of course), moderator(s), and most of all, the power brokers who love bathing in the DC swamp. While Trump will get crucified for absolutely anything he says that's out of sorts in the slightest, and he will likely say some stupid ****, it's not even close to fair how they are going to be treated as individuals in an actual debate.

That's a damned fact I'll bet my life on, a sorry state of affairs of our political system, and for people who care about fairness and actual justice, they're going to be severely let-down.
 
Fox news reporting that the Biden camp has requested a break every 30 minutes. Because that's what I want in a President....a guy who can't function for an hour and a half straight.

When has it been different? Just one more reason not to watch. I mean, I assume you already know that you're voting for Trump. So what do you hope to gain by watching? Is Joe Biden going to change your mind? You already know how the media is going to behave because they have been this way forever. You already know where the candidates stand. Anything short of fist fight will be anti-climactic.

All of that being said, The only reason to tune in is for entertainment and to see if your guy "wins," like a football game or UFC fight. And no matter what happens, Trump supporters will say Trump "DESTROYED" Biden and Biden supporters will say Biden "DESTROYED" Trump, meanwhile not a single person will have changed their mind on who they are voting for.. We've all seen this movie before.

Anyway, enjoy. I'll be binge watching something on NETFLIX. I know who I am voting for, and the only thing the debates are going to do is raise my already high blood pressure. I'll pass.
 
Trump MUST win the debate. I believe Biden is up in the polls, not by what they are saying but ahead. The debates are Trump's best chance to change that. Gloves off Donald, but be factual and do call Biden out as racists, pro war, and a man who voted the opposite way of what he is currently saying. Also call Biden out on Covid-19 as he didn't like it when you closed boarders.

1) Trump can lay out facts all night long, it isn't going to matter. He is going to be fact checked to death, everything he said will have been a lie. You already know it is coming.

His prep for the debate has probably been practicing his timing in stating the answers piped into his earpiece. If he can't have two breaks and wear an earpiece then he'll probably bail out. That would suck.
