Guess we'll get a 3rd round pick in 2021

Why does everyone keep saying we need a true NT? Tomlin will not use him as a true NT, he'll use him as a DE in the 2 Dlinemen set.
If used right I agree with a NT, but with the amount of time we go 2 Dlinemen, even on ******* goal line situations alot, a NT seems like a wasted roster spot
I agree with needing one, if we use them, but we do not use a true NT, we rarely use 3 Dlinenmen.People have been saying it since Casey Hampton retired. We haven't tried to draft one or sign one and we certainly haven't used one.

We knew that going into the game Sunday, and we were still trying to stop them with 2 Dlinemen.Well with the rats being a huge running team, they need to rethink that stance and bring one in.
Rats learned from impact of Ngata. We knew that going into the game Sunday, and we were still trying to stop them with 2 Dlinemen.
IMO that's why the Ravens defense is so good year in year out, they use 3 and 4 Dlinemen alot, and they're all hard to move. They are never at a physical mis-match like we are. Ravens have Williams, Pierce, Peko, Ellis all 325 or heavier. They have one DE under 300

That seems excessive.
That valuation I disagree with a lot. We'll see who is correct, but I don't think he gets half that.
I've actually hypothesized that the way to beat Baltimore and the Lamar Jackson offense is to go BACK to the very, old-school 3-4, 2-gap defense.
When you study how Jackson as the additional runner is throwing off how modern, fast, light defenses are playing gap run defense, the numbers don't add up and that is where Baltimore's run offense is just wrecking havoc on teams. There isn't the one extra box defender vs. the number of blockers/runners against you.
That's why 2-gap responsibility, while sacrificing penetration, might be the perfect way to stop Baltimore. A huge front-3 can defend (or at least get an arm on) runners inside the gap (TE-OT-G-C-G-OT) - that's 5 gaps there - and allows your linebackers to read blocking schemes (FB or pulling offensive linemen) and possibly change the numbers into the defenses favor again.
I think if Belichick and NE see Baltimore again, I guarantee Belichick reverts back to 3-4, 2-gap defense sometimes against Baltimore heavy lineups (with 8 or 9 offensive players in the "box").
