By Brandon J. Wallace SteelerNation.com ** Thursday morning, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced their 2019 Most Valuable Player. With 14 sacks, 7 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries heading into Week 17, it’s no surprise that outside linebacker, T.J. Watt gets the honors. Watt was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November, and […]

One of the few years the guy I thought should win won. But about as clear cut as it possibly could be. Well earned TJ. The term I heard in your draft year was Wardaddy. And that was accurate.

I think an argument could be made for Fitzpatrick being more valuable, though one is basically splitting hairs between the two.

Even with Watt doing what he's doing, it's hard for me to imagine the defense being as good as it's been if Sean Davis doesn't get injured and the trade isn't made.

makes one wonder after last year that this decision would be made after week 17.

Hahaha. ah no. Watt basically showed up in every game. I'm not saying Fitzpatrick wasn't very good. He was. It was a large price, but he was well worth it. But he had two and three game lulls where he didn't make big plays. Sorry not even close really. I would say Fitzpatrick was a strong second. But not even close.

Well said, Watt is the clear cut guy, not really close. Fitz started off here on fire, but his last 5 or 6 games he hasn't stood out.

Fitzpatrick was more valuable in the sense of what he meant to the defense and how it changed due to his presence. Watt was the better player of the two but that doesn’t necessarily make him more valuable.

If Boswell isn’t #3, he int far behind.

Yeah I've heard all that more valuable to the team bullshit. It was quite easy to see this year that if what you described as the criterion for MVP was accurate then Ben Roethlisberger should have received the award 15 straight years running. The reality is MVP is the guy who has the best season on the team and Watt did something big in all but maybe what two games. Like I said, not even close. Oh and take Watt off of that defense and replace him with Chickillo. See how that goes.

Well all that was mentioned and the little matter that Fitz wasn't a Steeler all season. Not a knock but he will have to settle for runner up. And for a nation of Steelers fans that are stoked that both of them look good in Black n Gold.

Oh and there was a Fitz that won a team MVP, it was the bearded QB in Miami the same team we stole our Fitz from.

Yep, he's one of the (if not the) hardest workers out on that field game-in, game-out too. An absolute animal. Chandler Jones is racking up some beastly numbers for Arizona but I really hope TJ gets strong consideration for DPOY as well.

Don't take anything away from TJ by bringing that FUCKWAD little chest **** into this. There is NO ONE on the roster that is remotely selfish enough to even question this ACOLADE tto TJ WATT.

Congratulation Mr. Watt and may you win this 9 in a row.

chill man. Menopause is a real thing. He will get past it; no reason to call him out.

I realize that Hoot but after his win on the OLIVER situation, you'd think he'd take his prediction status more seriously. Lately he just seems to be shooting ducks.............

I think they should have named Brown the MVP just to screw with him. See what kinda Twitter storm that would cause

I was positive duckie was going to get it
He did it was on cooch's MVP Steelers list, right ahead of chickislow who ran a close second. Then there is a list that he labelled in his infinite wisdom, "who to trade to Cleveland for their two first round picks". On it he lists: Bell, Pouncey, snail, bigheaded Polamalu, and Mason Rudolph. I can see Sean Davis was crayoned off and replaced with Edmunds. There is also a book on his nightstand that has all the names players he would have picked over Steelers players in the draft. It has a lot of misspelled names but I can tell it was quite the detailed lengthy list. At the back of the book it has a YouTube highlights link and a bookmark for Walter Football. I can tell this cooch fellow is at the top of his game.

this is great for TJ. well deserved. Hopefully this is not last award he wins this year!

I don't take anything seriously

I see this sarcasm simply elevated over many a (regular sized) heads.

The term "throwing darts" was replaced with "shooting ducks." My apologies to those who missed it and for those who............give a sit about head size.!
