This last game damn well would have put me there.
So, I'm in the hospital last weekend with some small heart palpitations. You know the drill. No excitement, no stress etc. Which of course was supposed to mean no football. But, I'd be damned if I was going to miss the Buckeyes on Sat. night or the Steelers on Sun.
Long story short, they kept threatening to take the TV away during the tOSU game. Never did. But come Sunday, after the 3rd quarter, they did something to where I couldn't even turn the tv back on because I was kinda "boisterous" about the performance that I was seeing. Heart rate up. Palpitations back. Another night of observation.
I love the Steelers, but this last game was literally almost the death of me.

might need to take a step back from the games.
life > games

True, true. But I think the job stress (finished a big project last week) had a lot to do with the health issues. The games just kinda poured a lil gas on a fire that was already burning. In any event, I'm taking the rest of the week off, sitting back enjoying time with my kids before my oldest heads off to the Air Force and just relaxing. It's supposed to be 65 degrees today so I think I'll put something on the grill, have a beer or two and just relax. Of course, it would be easier to relax without the fiance taking my blood pressure every hour on the hour ... lol. But God bless her for caring.

Take some time off man. Hearts aren't something to tinker with. It's just a game... not worth your life buddy.

Thanks to you all ... Like I said, I'll just relax for a lil while. See how I feel Monday, but with it being a late game. I may just miss this one.

Get well l. I had some issues leading up to the last Super Bowl. In and out of emergency room leading up to that game. Wasnt my heart but it was anxiety attacks and blood pressure was way up. Still took no chances and made some life changes, stopped smoking the Mary Jane every day and cut out the salt. Also tried to stop investing so much into this damn team. Suffice to say Ive had more success with the smoking and salt lol. Anyway like others have said try to relax and be careful. Feel better.

miss one game and see more

Get better first, you know the odds are you will recover before this team does so concentrate on that. With Dr. MT in charge this team is likely to stay on Hospice for a while.

You've heard it before and I'm sure you will hear it again, it's just a game. I think about myself as I never miss a game and how hard that would be to miss. I don't get all punctual about it as I don't have any control over game / players / outcome. Hard to do though so good luck with what you need to do. Hug the fiance, not just because she is your future wife, but because she deserves it.

Salute the nation

i take valium every time they step on the field ,,it works

Anyone that gets this upset over a football game needs to spend some serious time with a psychiatrist, IMO.

The old "Before Friday" me would probably say something smarmy about your issues with reading comprehension and then note that you had probably missed that issues arose during a hectic project and that I was already hospitalized during the game. But, the newly released model (who knows how long that will last) will just say:

Thank you for your concerns regarding my mental health. It may be of help to yourself and those around you if you heed your own advice. Not because you get worked up over a game, but because you seem to have "singular personality disorder" and unfortunately, that singular personality is an ***.

Edit: Now THAT was relaxing. Thank you.

If you have a heart attack from the game, well, you're already in the hospital. Best place to be. Watch away. j/k, get well soon.

Dude, perfect opportunity for your fiancé to do the hot nurse outfit and take more than your blood pressure. Get moving on it.

Great minds think alike. I brought up the idea earlier. Unfortunately, she gave me the "you were told to relax and I don't think that's what the Dr. had in mind" response. Oh well, I tried.

Tell her its better than having the Steelers raise your heart rate, at least there's enjoyment and a great finish! :D

Anyone that keeps on registering under new names after being banned needs to see a psychiatrist.

That douche needs to keep his bags packed. His trips here are going to be short and sweet.

Baloney! I have A Fib., a leaky valve and an Aortic artery that is being watched that might require a bionic replacement! My cardiogist tells me to have as much whoopie as I can get the wife to agree to. The Steelers used to get me wound up now they just piss me off because of the waste of talent.
I keep a heavy bag around to work off stress, it helps. Plus you never know when some young buck wants to throw down with the 'ol man, I still have a few inside moves that can get someones attention. "Yo Adrian"!
