Our offense is now officially unwatchable

The lack of game readiness, yet again, has to be attributed to the coaching. “Steeler Slow” is becoming a first quarter norm. Last night was extra special.

What has happened to this offensive line, we cannot run the ball and Mason has had no time and no room to pass. These Tight ends we have are useless
The O Line hasn’t performed at it’s former levels since Mike Munchalk left.

This is kinda baffling to me. The core of the oline (Pouncey, DeCastro, Foster, Villanueva and even Feiler to a degree) are vets who worked under Munch for years. Sean Sarrett was supposedly his hand picked Right Hand Man. It seems to me these guys ought to have things figured out by now and there shouldn't be that much of a drop-off in performance without Munchak. Maybe he left because he saw the writing on the wall with age taking its toll on this group. Certainly Foster appears to be a weak link but Villanueva is still pretty young and he has been beaten like a drum of late. Hate to see what its gonna look like without Pouncey holding down the middle of the line.

The offensive line is going to **** because they haven't drafted OL in the high rounds since Decastro. Even Munchak would be limited in developing late round picks over time. Same thing happened in the late 2000's.

Communication is ****.. they miss assignments and they are developing poor technique trying to compensate for mismatches... position coaches not only are monitoring players for bad habits and giving pointers for getting better, they are helping with planning blocking schemes... munch leaving is the biggest thing

The second big thing is mason isn’t ben and isn’t as adept at picking up holes in the blocking schemes... bens audibles pretty much were our offense the past decade...

It's a dumpster fire. You don't have enough high level experienced talent left. The wideouts are fubar this year. The OL is not good at run blocking for a power run game. Maybe just not athletic enough.

The playcalling sucks ***.

You try duck for a spark. If it doesn't work? Well then it is just more of the same. I can deal with a loss better knowing they tried some different things. But to do the second thing over and over again and to expect different results? The true definition of insanity.

This is kind of where I'm at. Honestly this year's team has no shot at a Super Bowl. We all pretty much know that. The defense is capable of competing but all the injuries and other crap that has happened to the offense has pretty much neutered us in terms of competing with top teams in the playoffs if we were even to get there. What better time to shuffle the deck a bit and see what happens? I'm not at all giving up on Rudolph at this point. I just think Duck's mobility might help us out. Look at the new generation of QBs - not a lot of straight drop back pocket passers in the upper echelon: Wilson, Mahomes, Jackson, Watson, even Mayfield - he killed us when his scrambling extended plays and exposed our coverages. I would like to see Tomlin et.al. use the remainder of this season to evaluate some of the talent they have sitting on the bench and the only way to do that is against regular season NFL talent and schemes. Maybe they can find a diamond in the rough and maybe not. At least we will know.

This team is gonna struggle to make the playoffs no matter the QB at this point. Right now, you just need to ride it out with Mason and see what he is as a QB.

Look at the bright side: Perhaps Finney will be able to provide a more consistent level of shotgun snap location, instead of all over the ******* place like his overrated and overpaid predecessor.

From what I remember we were struggling with BB at the beginning of the season. The offense didn't look a whole lot better.

I buy that if he is playing average or above average. But 4 interception games when you aren't an established starter should come with a short leash attached. Struggle they might but with the soft remaining schedule it isn't like the playoffs are totally out of the picture. It doesn't make it mission impossible Ethan just difficult... But that can change to impossible if you pile up losses without trying to attempt a spark.

I stick with Mason. Let him get all the reps he can. Do you really think The Duck will come in and create a spark? He will be behind the same line that is playing like ****. He will have the same RB's that are not doing anything. He will have the same WR's that can't get open and seem to all have the dropsies. And lastly. He will have the same coaches calling the same gameplan. So I stick with Mason so he can get more in-game experience.

Hard to tell if he could provide a spark on the bench. Miss the playoffs without attempting to spark the offense and I am sure there will be plenty of snazzy excuses. But one reason in fact will be a coaching fail not that we aren't used to seeing that anyways.

Rudolph stares at where he intends to throw.

Duck seemed to do go through his options.

Isn’t he still here waiting to snap the ball at Gillette Stadium?

His one and only start he was the second coming of Mr. Dump off himself..... Mason. Mason has had little time to throw. Our Oline has been horrible. Our running game worst...partly because our Oline has been horrible. WR's have been well below the line. Somewhere though you and many have seen that The Duck doesn't stare down his WR's and goes through his progressions. Where exactly have you seen this? Preseason? His mop-up role game? Mason looked a bunch better in preseason also. And his mop up role games. Duck's one and only start we actually had a good running attack. And our leading receiver was Connor. Our WR's had a total of 5 catches for 33 yards. TE's...2 catches for 10 yards. RB's....well Connor had 7 catches for 78 yards and a TD. Add in Snells 1 catch for 14 yards. TheRB catches actually inflated the averages a bit.

He should be told he is on a short leash against the bungals.

Why tell him that? What good comes from it? You can have him on a short leash but telling a young inexperienced QB that he will be on a short leash I would think wouldn't be a great move.

With 9 days to rest, hoping Juju, Johnson, and Conner can play, although I have no idea what their status is.

We already know Conner's status: presently injured/unable to play, or soon-to-be injured/unable to play

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Connor goes to IR. Reinjuring that shoulder so quickly is not a good sign.
