Well it's chargers week and yes then the bye. I think we win this one even if by our 3rd QB arm. I think our "D" has improved and can defend their "O" well enough.

Our offense's injuries are adding up and we really need our deep depth guys to step it up. Can you hear me Holton / Moncrief / Switzerland / Snell and the likes. Who ever plays FB needs to hit hard because that's what we should be doing a lot of. Use both tight ends and two Back's in the backfield.

What say you, STEELERS NATION,

One more thing, west coast trip win this time around.

I hear yaz Coolie but even as injured / shabby as our offense is, I still think they put points on the board so add 10.

I dont know why but I am extremely confident. We should win this easily

I hope you're right but you have to factor in the sideline participants as well.

Edit: I bet Tomlin and company have a little better game plan as well.

ok - you opened the can of worms...lets have some fun. You are in Tomlin's seat, what is your game plan?

Defensively, I need to play sound and keep points low. I need some turnover but most importantly, I gotta get off the field. I gotta give my offense as many chances with the ball as I can. I gotta keep points down, but I can't be so conservative that I am afraid to go for the turnover or sack. I say start with heavy pressure packages (that include Hargrave-Tuitt-Heyward all on the field).

Offense - chargers are going to stack the box and try to take away the short routes. That means inside leverage against slants and trying to read the WR screens for picks. They will fill gaps to stop the run (a lot easier with no real wildcat threat). So, I work the TE for those 10-15 yard mid range stuff. Pop passes and crossing routes to get behind the LB's a little bit to give Conner some room on the stretch/off tackle type runs. Most important, you have nothing to lose by going downfield a few times. Uncork a couple just to show you can (but thise goes back to the defense being able to get the ball back quick).

What say you, STEELERS NATION,

I penciled this in as a loss before the season started since they simply do not win on the west coast. On the other hand, Tomlin's only win on the west coast was with Vick at QB, so you never know.

Hoot, solid post and game plan/ Yes on the "O", get those 2TE sets involved both in run and pass. Duck can pass and we need his strength in the mid range attempts. COACHING shouldn't hold him back on the 5yrd and less crap through out the game. Handcuffing him to start the game is asinine (same for when Mason was in there).

I don't live in my fears but my biggest fear is "rubber stamp cinci game plan". The wildcat that has the RB passing is coockO but not surprising if called. OUR QB is a hell of a lot better passer than any and all of our RBs. Throw to losen up for the run, and not the other way around.

Defense has gotta "D".

We’re starting our 3rd string QB folks...sorry but I can’t be that confident of a west coast road win against an opponent that beat us last year at home with Ben.

Is this the official prediction thread? In any case, I figured this was a loss before Ben got hurt after the fiasco in New England exposed us. We are now the team other teams look forward to playing as a relatively easy win. Our only hope is that the Chargers pull a Tomlin and play down to the competition. Not happening. Chargers 30, Steelers 20

NO, not official prediction thread. Just a "pump you up against next opponent" thread. Gives us a chance to discuss up coming game

Keenan Allen is their 1 weapon, have someone hit him at the line on every play. They don't have much of a TE threat, so you could have Edmunds follow him and hit him at the line.

Here’s a hint to Butler. The chargers will put Allen in the slot and if you cover him with a LB, they will throw to him every time and move the chains. No, your LB can’t cover him in man coverage.

They will also try to use their RB Ekler against the LBs. Maybe Bush can handle him but don’t bet on it.

Huge blow for the Chargers. Our D-line must be licking their chops...

The REFS beat us against SD last year. Go back and watch the game---NOT ONE false start called all night and their OL was moving early on every offensive play...

The Charger won't line him up on the LOS, they'll motion him, put him in the slot and make it tougher to bump him, they have two very good RB's and their other WR is starting to play well.

Uhh not to wee wee in yinz Cheerios but the West Coast is not so friendly to the Steelers. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see Hodges light it up but no J Sam or Washington?
Conner is going to have to romp for about a Buck Seventy, JuJu and all the other hands will have to turn in Pro Bowl numbers while the Defense humiliates Phil Rivers.
Tomlin is on the ropes, should be entertaining

Well I can say they aren't as weak as bungle-land but NOT nearly as tough as 49ers either. Pro Bowl performances or not, we should win this. Our "D" is much more capable than last year's "D". Just for the record, I'm glad our players don't base their win / loss / good-ness on last year's activities. I think they havew the sense to play in the current.

Battle of the Suck....This is an awful matchup. I have no faith in Mike Tomlin....Steelers lose

Chargers 31
Steelers 17

Pouncey is out for the Chargers and the bolts like to pass. So I would blitz heavy throw out an extra defensive back and make them beat the Steelers running it.

Phillip Lindsey (Denver) put up 191 yards rushing against chargers, do we have a RB that can get 100+, coaching needs a little game planing and less ink for the rubber stamping of late. I need bacon!
