Bright spot on the defense. He and Watt are playmakers and difference makers. The fact he followed the ball on that tip and had the quick hands to snag it reminded me just a little of #43. I’m hoping for a 7-9 season and to not give Miami a top 10 pick but so far I’m ok with the trade.

I'm fully convinced that Tomlin will move him to slot CB next week.

Remember that is only on one week time. Wait till Tomlin can ruin him with his stupid "D" scheme.

Definately a bright spot on today's defensive side of the ball. Nelson and Hayden played well as well along with TJ Watt.

The "O" didn't do enough with the turnovers.

Salute the nation

The guy was impressive.

And think about the learning curve just getting here. But then you realize these guys aren't 'learning' a whole lot.

Nothing will change as long as the arrogant Tomlin is coaching this football team.
He could only get as far as the AFCC game with the likes on Brown, Bell, and Ben and got embarrassed in that game. What the hell do you think he will do without any of them???? He’s really exposed now and as someone mentioned last week, those three made him look a lot better than he actually is, and covered up many of his flaws.Get accustomed to losing boys with this fraud at helm and no real difference makers on offense. He’s shown how he can **** up a defense made up of no one picks, now he’s turned his attention to the offense. The entire coaching staff needs to gone at seasons end and it starts with Tomlin.

He is definitely the real deal. He is going to be one of those players like Watt that you have to scheme for. It was a good trade.

The best 'coaching' they can give this kid is 'wreak havoc' and encourage the others to do their jobs in support. Give him an 'Attaboy' when he comes to the side line. How do you scheme for this kind of player?

****** awesome. I mean most of 49ers impact plays were in the 15 yard range in the middle, but yes yes. Great trade.

This is what a quality player looks like. Now just wait till the end of the season and see what he looks like after being “coached up” by Tomlin

Some judge in Pittsburgh needs to issue a restraining order to keep Tomlin from any contact with this kid. Well, the whole team while he's at it.

Minkah is definitely as advertised and if he keeps this up, he and Edmunds will rule our secondary for a decade. And after a slow first game, Watt has been dominant the past 2 games.

We are getting glimpses of great plays/players but all in all, this D is still only conditioned to play one half. 2 weeks in a row and they get blown up in the 2nd half. They are not the 60 minute men of Greg Lloyd's time in uniform.

Edmunds is consistently a half second late from making a big play. Some said he was a fourth round talent drafted in the first round, I’m thinking they’re right.

Very impressed with Fitzpatrick, looked like a man among boys out there (besides the one play he got tossed off the TE/FB like a rag doll). Overall, he should be a key pillar in this D for years to come. Great debut performance, Fitz!

I wasn’t a fan of giving up 1st to get him, but as another here said in different thread—that’s not his fault. He looks to be damn good, forcing fumble, INT, closing speed.

Hayden is not a play maker CB in terms of INTs but can cover — he was guy who made the play that gave MF the chance to get the INT.

Nelson has played well. He looks little undersized ideally, but completes best 1-2 CB combo Steelers have had since Ike/Deshea of 08.

Edmunds— He’s not making me forget Carnell Lake. Despite being 1st round pick... has he made a play this year?

Still not sure I'd trade a top 5 pick for him if that's what we would have ended up with.

They also don’t have Offense that runs Time of Possession off the clock like Greg Lloyd’s time.

Roethlisberger has bailed them out / covered them up for years. Now they have to adjust to not having him the way Ravens adjusted last year and played ball control

Edmunds is a step late on every play. He seems to know what's going on, identifies the play, is in relatively good position, but is a hair late getting there to meet the ball. Hence him showing up on a lot of highlights riding the back of a WR/RB/TE who just got a first down or scored a TD.

I thought Edmunds had one of his better games yesterday. Only mistake I noticed was he went for the interception on one of their long completions when he likely would have knocked the ball out if he
went for the tackle. Funny thing is Fitzpatrick might be the one that coaches him up to make him a decent player.
