No.

Dayum!
DK goes OFF!

It is below the line coaching obviously.

For me I have seen enough

it is a no.

I want to see Butler replaced before I fire the head coach. But yeah, the ice is getting thinner beneath Tomlin's feet, no doubt.

I think it is the level of involvement there. Which we unfortunately don't know the true extent.

I would be ok with Butler getting the ax only if it was just his hands in the defense.

But is it? And then I think about the challenges not knowing when to challenge and when not to.

So much stupid floating around for me not to end up back at the HC.

In other words, Tomlin doesn't know WTF and him and the coordinators are selecting packages and players with a dart board.

I’m convinced Tomlin does absolutely nothing.. I mean literally nothing.

I am late to this party.
I always wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to Coach Tomlin.
He was selected by The Rooney family as only the third Head Coach since 1970.
Surely they saw something in him.
Surely he must be special due to his meteoric rise after only one year as a DC.

We are a spoiled franchise.
We expect the SB every year and are embarrassingly disappointed when it doesn't happen.
Our Browns/Lions/Dolphins/Raiders like years are few and far between.
Even when we had Tommy Maddox, Kent Graham, Kordell Stewart, Bubby Brister, Mike Tomczak, etc., we were still competitive and showed up.

01/14/2018.
This is the date I knew drastic changes were needed.
This is the date we lost to a Blake Bortles led Jaguars team.
A date that we hung 42 points on the far and away number one defense in the NFL, but surrendered 45 points to their anemic offense.
And drastic changes come.
Todd Haley gets fired, but Keith Butler keeps his job. ( insert blank stare here ).
I didn't understand that then, and I still don't understand it now.

I understand that sometimes coaches are ALL X's and O's. Robots. No emotion. ALL football, ALL the time.
Sometimes coaches are more motivators than teachers. They get the most out of sub-par talent because they inspire their players.
Sadly, Tomlin is neither of these things.
We don't get to see/hear/know the behind the scenes stuff.
We only see the product on the field and can only use that as a template.
And our on-field product severely lacks right now.
The decision making severely lacks right now.
The playcalling severely lacks right now.
In game/mid-game adjustments severely lack right now.
Passion from the players severely lacks right now.

We looked downright comatose yesterday on both sides of the ball until Rudolph came in.
His "OH MY GOD IT'S MY FIRST REAL NFL ACTION" excitement got the offense going ( except Moncrief ), and even the defense a little bit.
It's too bad that excited energy didn't translate to the coaches, who once again were just going through the motions.
I didn't want to put this in print. I secretly hoped I'd never have to because I know that all the credit/blame should never be pinned to one single person in a team sport ( Ben doesn't win/lose games by himself, Artie Burns isn't the reason we lost a game, JuJu isn't the reason we won, etc ).
But it is CLEAR and EVIDENT that our team lacks leadership. Our team lacks discipline. Our team lacks motivation. And our team lacks the proper coaching/technique/playcalling that we need to win.
These are ALL reflections of the Head Coach.

Thank you for your 13 years of service.
Thank you for two SB appearances and one Lombardi.
But as a great TEACHER once said, it's time to move on with your life's work.

If Tomlin had a pair he would just admit that the defense is his fire Butler and call the defense. He hides behind others so that he has a buffer of blame. Then he fires them and hires a new coordinator so that people will have hope. He doesn't call offense. He doesn't call defense. He has a special coach upstairs to help with in game strategy. What exactly does Mike Tomlin do?

Look, Art needs to dispense with the only three coaches in 200 year bullshit, forget about the Rooney Rule, and do the right thing at seasons end and terminate this guys (Tomless) contract. I've said it for several years now, the guy is a fraud and nothing more. He came here to a loaded team filled with veteran players and leaders, two very good coordinators, a young, franchise QB so he was setup for early success but he couldn't build on it. The Steelers thought they had a young defensive genius on their hands who could develop defensive talent especially defensive backs but what they got was a smooth tallking, chest bumping, cliche speaking, fraud who took credit for success largely built by his predecessor. The guy can't do the job! What he's built is an undisciplined, poorly coached, lazy, confused, defense that lacks communication and basic fundamentals such as tackling. He's developed no one in the defensive backfield in 13 seasons and that was supposed to be his strength.

Find a young and proven coordinator this off season and end this thing please. And again I hear Heyward talking about poor communication again this morning. WTF!

One would almost sarcastically say his job is to get the team to stadium on time, and stay out of the field of play during game action. But, he hasn't even been a stone cold lock in those areas either.

Awesome post. I'm certain you are the Cronkite of this board, and if Shades was honest he'd say, like LBJ, "if I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America" of Steeler Nation.

He had me at going for 2 from the 12 as I confess I could just never get over his early game management gaffes and the fact his headset seemed to say "For Display Only."

With Tomlin, this team has no future. I don't care what Terrell Edmunds thinks, one way or the other. Why are they asking a second year player who was drafted far higher than he deserved what he thinks about the coach who drafted him?

If Tomlin was fired (which he won’t be), does anyone think another team would hire him as HC?? Not a chance. Every other teams knows he’s a likable guy who road coattails to early success...

Gentlemen:

The Steelers as we knew them died with Dan Rooney.

Art II is as much to blame for this circus as is anyone. We all know that Tomlin and Butler are not up to their jobs. Everybody in the league knows it. But apparently, incompetence is OK with Art II as long as the money keeps rolling in.

This team, this organization, is a shadow of what it once was and the real change has been at the top.

You see Ron, that is where "the bruce" was way nsmarter than these tomlin............. Bruce had the sense of renting my "One Armed **** Flinging Monkeys"

Salute the nation

After AB and Bell's nonsense, I softened some on him. And then he kicked that FG in NE down 20. The guy is a lost cause and he can't get out of here fast enough.

A real coach would tell Butler not to use 2DL or tell the OC to cut out the empty BS and find plays with quicker higher percentage plays. If the coordinators don't listen they would lose their play calling duties or be fired.

Clean house, it doesn't matter if we finish 0-16 and get the first pick in the draft if we still have the same coaches

The superstars are gone, the cupboards are bare, start over fresh.

Tomlin should have been let go years ago. Nice to see some of you come around. He’s been a liability for years covered up by Ben’s comeback ability, and Lebeau’s defensive acumen .

It seemed like the defense did pretty well early.

The hags just made adjustments at halftime and the Steelers couldn't keep up. Unfortunately we've all been very clear for years that Tomlin's strengths do not include halftime adjustments.
