Day Three - Draft Day Discussion

How the hell do we not have that in Jay Sam? Having a bruiser is what we have won with. Conner certainly was no slouch catching the ball either.

Being able to catch a football is not the same as being a factor in the passing game. Bell was able to run WR routes and defenses had to account for him like a TE or WR with coverage. Samuels and Conner and now Snell are guys who can do the simple RB routes. They are easier to defend.

Like the Buggs selection also..

Steeler having a good Saturday...

Sutton is my only concern..

They are taking some gambles... ten picks won’t make the roster so you take some homerun shots.... they also are going very young development guys who can PS for a couple years if need be

Probably planning on him as a NT... people shied away from himcauseof who he played with.... heis probably a good anchor but won’t have the same impact in the pass rush...
A couple of my draft mags had a third round grade on him
He looks pretty good to me, especially in the 6th round.

Great pick, good production against really good competition, just had a subpar combine. Isaiah Buggs definitely a Karl Dunbar pick.

I disagree on Samuels. He played a lot of slot and did a lot in the passing game in college. Yeah Conner is more basic but not Samuels.

Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on WR Emmanuel Hall someone to take the top off. Heard an interview with Sills earlier this week said his favourite interview was with Tomlin. Harmon still there if we are after that tall WR also. Think they are all value this late

E Hall speed and size
Or how about big Beau adding Guard depth
who is left in the DB department for a double dip at that position

Still a decent receiver left, Emanuel Hall.
I would add Anthony Johnson and Antonio Wesley to the list....and the Sills kid from WVU the Steelers were supposedly interested in.

Looks like another ST/development LB, they're stocking up on them

[h=3]Ulysees Gilbert III LB, AKRON[/h]

Antoine Wesley is imo one of the most criminally underrated receivers in this draft

Gilbert was in for a visit they probably had a higher draft grade on him and thought he was too good to pass up this late. Good pick I think Dirty Reds days are numbered with the Sutton and Gilbert picks.

Late round picks. Unlike 1st through 3rd, they still have to Take/Earn the man's job ... especially on ST

But, with Bostic already here, adding Baron and Bush .... yeah, Red has probably seen his last days as a Steeler

Buggs was a real good pick. His knock is he’s undisciplined but with workers like heyward and tuitt around him, it should help.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Bostic get a ticket out of town either...

Maybe he knocks Big Dan off the roster...

Not sure Bostic is gonna be around much longer, they've really gone after LB's, three in total, all with wheels to move sideline to sideline. Not to mention adding Mark Barron. I think they see the writing on the wall where the league is going, and have decided to make a significant shift with the type of linebackers they need to offset these spread offenses.
