AB Goes to Oakland

Colbert again shows how bad a GM he is...to not get a #1 from a team that has FOUR! is absurd...per all the NFL smarties, AB is a top tier WR
Him and Tomlin have moved the Steelers into the biggest NFL joke, Rooney must be proud
Can't wait to see his quality FA signings and what he takes with this 3 and 5 draft picks...which he has proven are swing and misses through the years.
But then again, this a GM, "coach" and owner who feel Butler and Danny Smith should still be employed?? Really??

Hey CAP GURUS.....

Since a new contract is in place, are we still 21 million in dead cap space? Or are we free?

If it is restructured, & that contract is gone I would hope we aren't bound to the old contract...

Anyone???

Steelers will have to eat the money.

Yes - this is hard to swallow. Hope there is a silver lining LOL.

Hopefully the diva attitude of this team is gone and get back to winning games by hard work, not assuming talent will take over.

Steelers will have to eat the money.

The money has already been paid. It's cap money. It's a shame they have to take the hit but it doesn't cost them any real $$$. It's money that has already been spent.

This was a total clusterfuck.

True and gives them less to spend. The fan was hoping it was off the books. Which it won't be.

Ok after the drama of the actual weekend that’s been made because of Brown, we know know what it was about. Rosenhaus basically revealed what it was all about during his interview on NFLN. AB wanted more money. All this posturing by him, the Ben, Tomlin, Colbert diatribes...all BS. Rosenhaus explained the Steelers gave him the ok to discuss with Mayock about Brown’s contract. When asked if the trade would have been commiserated if no new contract was issued, Rosenhaus response was deflective...saying the Raiders came through, but Mayock was a tough negotiator. Additionally, when asked what happened to the Buffalo trade, Rosenhaus said, “to be honest we had no contact with Buffalo’s GM, so I don’t know what happened” and “that’s between the Steelers and Buffalo” he doesn’t speak with hypotheticals.

So we gain all it’s about.....Brown wanted more money. Buffalo apparently wasn’t going to give him a new contract, at least not this year. Probably they would have pushed some of the money from the contract as a bonus...say 10 million. That wasn’t good enough so, hence “I won’t show up”.

So time to move on.......

Oakland has had EXACTLY 1.....ONE winning season in the last 16 years.....great fit Antonio BUCKET HEAD

Let's see how he likes losing

Gruden is wound really tight....May the unraveling begin

He doesn't give a **** about winning games, he proved that when he was here. If they go 0-16 he'll still be as happy as a clam. However, if his personal stats and HOF resume take a hit with the Raiders, then you'll have problems. I pity Derek Carr every time he doesn't force feed the ball to Brown. He's going to hear about it in the locker room and in the media.

$30MIL guaranteed to flake like AB doesn't seem smart but we'll see.

Before week 17 this past season, did anybody question Brown's work ethic? His off-season training is incredible, his toughness is well-established, and his skill level is simply amazing.

Look, the guy flaked and @#$%ed the Steelers. I get that. But let's not pretend he was not one of the hardest workers and most talented players in the NFL.

He's 30 years old. Apparently his route running is less than precise. Will Derek Carr be able to make up for that like Ben? We'll see if his skill level is as amazing as he thinks it is.

He was all that. And then some. But something changed last season. The throwing of ottomans of 14th floor balconies, the domestic dispute charge, the 100mph ticket, the guy pouting then actually quitting on his team the last game of the season etc. The guy weirded out.

Now, it's yet to be known how that is going to effect his on-field production, but those distractions have to take some type of toll. On the surface, it looks like the Raiders got the better end of this deal, but I say let's wait and see.

Gruden must feel sorry for us took that idiot Bryant off our hands now brown... at least we got something for that quitter. Doubt he does much in Oakland... maybe he does and gruden gets something out of him but if not 3rd and 5 th ain’t much... at least it’s something better than nothing but a 3rd and 5th for future hof’er is a joke. They desperately need to rethink how to do business in the modern communications era. The idea loyalty is a joke now. They are going to have to rethink everything from getting players, coaching them, keeping them. We’ve burnt up a dacade fumble fuking around trying to build a team around ben and the final product sucked. With everyone jumping ship or getting old will be time for a rebuild and I don’t for life of me think you let the same guys ie “coaches” and front office who fuked this up to begin with stay in place!

My goodness the amount of vaginas I'm seeing, and very few are laying the blame for our return at the feet of the only one who torpedoed any chance of a better return, Mr I'm broke and need more money to blow/stats>wins himself. Bet team unity will be better this season than we have seen in years, the cancers are out of the locker room
Look this is mostly on Brown. Some won't say it but I will. I hope his Achilles shreds like a cheese string on the next football rep he takes. I'm not talking about grease fires and cancer. But I hope the rest of his professional career is a misery for everyone involved. However, if the tape isn't going to be rewound to figure out how the Steelers put themselves in this shity position then nothing is learned. If they dont wake up about Tomlin they can continue being the Bengals. Does that work for you?

Only for a year. I don't think NV has an income tax.

I haven't seen the contract but isn't a lot of it up front? California will get their pound of flesh before he leaves.... guaranteed. Also not sure how long he will be a residence next year.

Better than posts that literally do nothing but point the finger at Tomlin and Colbert, still tons of butthurt for the return being held at their feet when that aspect of this whole ordeal was not on them. How we got here, sure Tomlin played his role, and I'm sure Colbert didn't help, but specifically the trade return itself is on Antonio "I NEED MORE MONEY TO THROW AWAY" Brown
