So, what do you all think? Will Ben break the bank like he has so far and go for top dollar or near top dollar on his extension? Or, does he follow in Marsha's footsteps and take much less so the team can bring in one or two players to add to our deficiencies? He only has realistically 1 to 3 years left to win another ring. So, is it all about the money or all about the ring for Ben? His contract extension will prove what he is all about. He could take $10 million per and allow the team to sign a major FA or even sign Bell (you never know). What does Steeler Nation think?

My guess is he breaks the bank and takes $20+ million per and we don't win another SB with him at the helm.

JEEPERS, he has taken and restructured so many times, he has given his all / pain / guts / life and yet some still want more. On top of all that compare him to the ******* "saint" Marcia. Cheatwaffle has been getting money through his TB12 training facility, kind of like money under the table in return for lower CAP hit salary. Yes, the commish and league owners turn the other cheek as if all legit yet the organization send all player / coaches / personal as if it were the team training facility (guaranteed payment).

I don't want BEN ROETHLESBERGER to break the bank but I'd like to see him paid fairly.

I want him paid fairly, I believe he’s earned it. I don’t think his intensions will be as you say “break the bank”. Ben has made millions already and I see an extension covering 2019 through 2022 season essentially ripping up the last year 2019 deal, so 4 year averaging 22-25 million per season.

It is also a lot easier to take less when your wife has made $500 million in career earnings including endorsements.

Let's see Bell wanted to be paid about 2X what the next highest RB was making and he has never even been to a SB. So everyone on here who wanted to pay Bell all those bucks shouldn't expect Ben to take any less than full ******* price... say about four times what Ryan makes should be good right?

Ben will get paid, but he will ake sure their is enough to go around for Pouncey and others

So basically you want Ben to take less than he's worth so Bell can be paid twice what he's worth.

Got it.

He’s takes a fair deal and gives himself an out in 2 years without paying back any front money.

LMAO and don't forget the ones that wanted Ben to take less so they could sign Bell.

Also sick of hearing this Brady bullshit, Ben's cap hit is like 1.5 million more than Brady's this season.

Hilarious, everyone says pay AB top dollar, pay Bell more than double the next RB, but Ben better taking a ******* discount.

It's those same dumbasses who will be bitching the loudest about QB play when BEN is gone....................... Less than clueless.

Curios if all those saying he should take less than he's worth do the same when they're up for a raise or new contract.

Ben Roethlisberger has renegotiated his agreements with the Steelers no less than twice in the past and always with the intention of freeing up cap space for roster upgrades.
Depending on the objective, there's no reason to think Ben & Co. won't do the same now.
However, in light of recent events, whatever direction the Steelers are headed and the 2018 season?
Who could blame Roethlisberger for taking the position of: "sure I'll go out and sling the football for over 5,000 yards but it's going to cost you"!
A brotha gotta eat!
But I'm betting he won't.

Will be interesting on two fronts once Ben and Tomlin are gone.

You will see meltdowns over QB play from the Ben finger pointers.

And say we get a white head coach it will be interesting to see what posters all of a sudden start blaming the coach when things go sideways. You know the ones who never blame Tomlin for anything. Two or three of them on this site.

PROBLEM is, he isn't taking less. He missed out on three incentive 2million dollar deals, I thin 1-pass %, 2-QBR % and 3-I can't Remeber but think TDs, so add those in and I think his cap hit would have been 24-26millin which is a far cry from taking a pay cut but WAY less than the ******* GOAT cheating player he is........... ADD in the TB12 money and WhoALa (last time for wig) you have a lot of money his way.........

If I am Ben, I am getting all I can. Everyone else does. Why does Ben have to keep restructuring and taking less pay to accommodate a bunch of prima donna's? **** that. That ain't winning a SB with all the handicaps this team has, might as well get one last rich deal before riding off into the sunset.

Amen Spike! What a title for a thread. He has Ben as a bad guy unless he takes less. Ben has had at least two previous extentions/ renogotiations where he has helped the team and the Steelers with salary cap issues.
Frankly the title of your thread is insulting. Did you do the same thread for Bell? AB?

Good grief, we have a bunch of whiney beeeeeeotches on here. I just asked a simple question about Ben and his upcoming salary. If Ben goes all in and wants $25 Million per, that would hurt the team and absolutely hurt his ability in his final couple of years to get another ring. If he does that fine, he has earned what is his. But, if he does take less money and the team can sign a top free agent to shore up the D or something else, doesn't that show he is all about winning a ring and he would actually have a better shot at doing so? I don't want Bell back, I just used him as an example in my original post. As much as we hate Marsha and his potential reasons for not breaking the bank his last 2 contracts, him taking less money than other top QB's absolutely helped the Cheats and cannot be denied. No matter how you view Ben now or later and how you view this question, how much Ben demands in this contract will go a long way toward whether we win another championship with him under center. I don't see Ben playing any more than 3 more years so the window is very tight.

**** you *******. That is not what I said in the least. Our window is about 3 years with Ben. I am asking about Ben's thoughts, not my own. Ben can break the bank if he wants. Between he, AB, Bell and anyone else on the team, he has earned it. But, if he wants another ring in the next 3 years, wouldn't it show a lot coming from the "leader" of the team to take a little less so the team can sign a top FA to help get that ring? We all know if Ben signs a $25 million contract, we will be relying on rookies and has beens like we have been over the past few years.

Oh, an restructuring almost always benefits the player. He ends up getting more money right then. Players have no problem restructuring their contracts from what I can tell. I know I would take the cash now rather than wait for it.

I've never heard of a restructuring that didn't benefit the player unless it was a "take it or we are cutting you" deal.

No player is going to turn down a restructuring because all it does is push more salary into up front money for the sole purpose of spreading the hit out over the rest of the deal. They are getting an advance on their paychecks.

Well, you know Ben isn't playing for another SB. With Tomlin in charge that just isn't a possibility and that has GOT to figure into his thought process.

Basically, he's just playing for cash and stats at this point. This year was probably the last realistic shot they had and we all saw how super-coach managed that. With Brown either gone or in full on mercenary mode, with the OL coach off to a conference rival all they have to rely on is the superb coaching talents of the Special Teams guy and Butler doing his best impression of a guy who actually does something.

I have zero faith they have any shot at the SB. So I would guess if Ben has any sense at all he'll go for the cash.
