Don't usually start a thread, but me thinks the Steelers winnin' ways are done.

We will be surpassed by the Ravens and the Browns. A couple of mobile QBs on teams that have adjusted and will adjust to those QBs talents. Can't see us getting a Shazier replacement because of where we will be drafting, and we still need help in the secondary. OL will fall off at least some with the departure of Munch and Pouncey will be a year older. AB will be gone .... we do draft good receivers and find gold in late rounds, but even then, this 'D' will not be able to hold any leads. Butler needs to go and so does Tomlin - start with a clean slate ..... not gonna happen.

We will be competitive, but don't see us winning the division any time soon. Maybe a wildcard.....maybe.

The team has underachievers in important positions, especially on D, and in the coaching ranks. Don't see any of those being fixed anytime soon. Even with a great draft, no one here to coach 'em up. Unless we get a lot of TJ Watts - guys that can just get the job done on super God-given ability, average players at ILB and OLB and in the secondary won't get it done ... maybe in a place where they could be coached up, but not here.

I'll be ticked if we get passed by a team lead by Lamar Jackson.

I dont think Jackson will be a long term threat. Mayfield could be. Best case scenario, Rudolph is very good and they send Tomlin to the unemployment line.

This... Jackson is sporadic at passing and that high school gimmick offense was figured out by the Chargers. If not for a prevent defense the guy has almost no yards passing and down by 20 points.

They said RG111 was going to change the league, now look at him. Jackson will not stay healthy running as much as he does.

As long as Ben is still playing, we always have a chance.

There are ways to increase our chances but I'm sure that's 2 years away..............

Salute the nation

I remember the 80's. I used to joke about Liffort Hobley* and Lupe (Dirty) Sanchez. Now the defense is loaded with Liffort Hobleys and Lupe Sanchezes.

* Bonus points if you know what Liffort Hobley's claim to fame as a Steeler was.

Highest draft pick cut rookie year?

Our window to win another super bowl appears to have closed.

Every season, I think to myself, we have too much talent not to make the playoffs. All we need to do once there is win two or three games to advance to another super bowl. Yes, our record in the playoffs has not been very good lately, but we can get hot at the right time.

Reality is sinking in, yes we have talent but we are too dysfunctional to play in another super bowl under a Mike Tomlin lead team, which saw his best assistant jump ship, and his loyalty to his worst assistant ( Danny Smith ) remain. For whatever reason, our defensive Coordinator Kevin Butler also remains.

Our first or second best player in Anotinio Brown wants out and judging by Art Rooney II's words, the Steelers will listen to offers and move on from the talented diva. Legendary Steelers are now openly ripping Tomlin and the team, and current or recently retired Steelers have taken their shots. I have never seen a current head coach under assault by Franchise legends, recently retired players, and current players. Yet that is happening so often, fans have become numb to the shock.

It's a dysfunctional mess. All that remains is for Art to press the reset button but for that, we need a losing season that coincides with Tomlin's contract expiring.

I think Tomlin believes this more than anyone else. The problem is that it takes more than just an elite QB to win a championship.

A pretty ******* slim chance. Next season, we’ll be the Giants minus Saquon Barkley.

I think alot of folks underestimate the effect Brown has on the offense. Yes, he's a major distraction and a diva, but Dayum, does he make some amazing plays. I don't see the offense being extraordinary next year and with this defense... Tomlin may very well be "turning over stones" to get his 'Non-losing' season.

Damn I clicked on a Cooch thread.

I have never been more apathetic about our team than I am right now. We are a mess. We have the talent on offense, but defense and coaching is wretched.

**** this thread.......Since you are SO GOOD AT PREDICTING. Just bet football games every week and make money and QUIT BEING PESSIMISTIC, and please keep this damn thought to yourself.

Did I mention **** this thread ???

Steelers will be fine.
Cannot promise we'll win. But I'll be optimistic for next season.

Gotta worry about them Browns though

The Browns and Ravens will be on top in the AFC North next year. We will be in the basement with Cincinnati.
