So let's look at the melt-down...

I'm not defending Tomlin. I've clearly and repeatedly said to fire him for what he's done or not done. But to throw **** on him for **** just because you cant get your tampon out is childish and bitchy. Much like you are, 24/7. A childish, bitchy ************.

LOL you calling me childish and bitchy you ******* little ****. This started because I hurt you wittle feelings when you gave some stupid comment about Tomlin bringing down the hammer when he did no such thing. He didn't suspend him from the game (just from playing in it) and he even paid him. Big ****. Now you throw **** on him because you don't believe what he said.. but that's ok but it's NOT ok when I throw **** on him... you're such a child and a bitchy stupid ************ at that.

oh, so now we have Tomlin in charge of paying people. Tomlin's writing checks to guys. Next, we'll hear Tomlin is not only writing checks, but also cashing them and advising on financial matters, giving religious advice and picking up kids from soccer practice...for all but 3 guys on the team. You're so ******* stupid you bring down the overall IQ of the board and are too ignorant to know it. Bitchy *** ************.

You stupid ************. Tomlin can dock him a game check. All he has to do is suspend him dumbass. Bitchy *** stupid ************.

not at all.
there's 49 other guys on the roster not acting like spoiled *******. why is that? why does Tomlin have to prod and coach up the other three who can't be men? we've said here, on this very board, that if a player can't "get themselves up for" a game, then something is wrong with them. To put that into play here, if these ******* can't act like the professionals they're being paid to be, then what's wrong with them? Why does Tomlin, or anyone, really, need to hand-hold these mouthbreathing retards and get them to not piss on themselves? To just bash Tomlin to no end for the conduct of these ******* is just stupid and lame. Tomlin can't be in their heads telling them right from wrong. That's a personal issue they have.

A good boss provides leadership and direction. A good boss also motivates and inspires respect from their subordinates. You ever have a boss you could get over on? A guy that you could bamboozle and take advantage of who let things go till they got out of hand, and then they tried to crackdown for a while but let things go back to status quo immediately? Mikey Sunglasses is that guy. It is too late to try and instill discipline and accountability on game day.

You know for a fact there is no other problems or do you simply not hear about them because those 49 other players aren't stars? When the same stuff happens constantly its on the head coach.

Because that's what they pay the (************) for. In fact, the man himself said exactly this, just a few short days ago:

"You know, distractions and things of that nature are part of the job, particularly in today’s NFL. I don’t run away from it, as a matter of fact, I embrace it. I never use those things as an excuse in terms of our performance and things of that nature. That’s just not how I’m wired. So, I don’t talk a lot about that during the course of the journey. Is it challenging? Certainly. Am I appropriately compensated for those challenges? Certainly."

Gee, Tomlin embraces Brown's bullshit (and things of that nature), and is certainly appropriately compensated for dealing with those types of challenges during his journey. Imagine that.

By the way, there's 53 men on the active roster, not 50. And (obviously) it's part of Tomlin's J-O-B to keep each and every one of them in line. Including Antonio Brown.

Technically we don't know WHO respects Tomlin and who is just there to collect a paycheck while shining him on...

Wow, I thought the SN political board was rough waters, a tough neighborhood, etc. Nothing we say to each other there can hold a candle to the vitriol in this thread. LOL love my fellow Steelers fans, you can feel the passion bursting through the seams.

A disappointing season brings debate and disagreement.

Keep most of the coaches in place and it isn't out of the realm of possibility next year similar debates are taking place.

It would have saved the Steelers $1 million (or whatever). If I’m Art, I have a problem with Tomlin suspending players with pay. It was an attempted cover-up of a situation that got exposed and is now an embarrassment.

So, albeit slightly, Harrison was still better in all three of your categories there. Yet, he was unceremoniously inactivated on game days, subsequently released, and Tomlin's boy Dupree has remained a starter to this day...while still utilizing his one ineffective outside rush move 94.3% (my own conservative estimate) of the time.

That was Harrisons last 2 years as a starter. The difference is so slight, saying that, 1 year later, that Harrison was just as good might not be accurate. Similar to Coach's assertion that the dude with about a 1 yard better net punt is "better".

You will note that i didnt say Durpee was better and he was , certainly, less intimidating. What i am saying is that the results are less than what anyone, probably, expected. I had no idea what they would be when i looked them up. That difference seems barely significant.

We don't know, exactly what happened. James wanted to be on the field and didn't get to be. That made him angry. You wouldn't like him when he is angry. I wouldn't have wanted to he the one to tell him he wasn't playing, for sure. Maybe, that is something that contributed to him continuing to not play.

I wish he would have been used more. Seeing him in a *'s uniform was ugly

Porter, not Tomlin made the announcement that we were moving on with 2 young guys or some words to that effect. I get the he's the position coach argument but when dealing with a Steelers legend that statement should have come from the HC, not Peezy who shoulda already been fired at that point for yet another nightclub incident. And to string Harrison along all season was disrespectful and that's on Shades. Very poor decisions were made re: James imo. That doesn't excuse his behavior of late, just my take on perhaps why he's acting the ***.

I can't say if the numbers bear it out but I'm in the Harrison > Durpee club, and he shoulda been starting.

The worst part of this is that nothing will change no matter how much we rage at each other. The Rooneys will not get rid of Mikey Sunglasses because he is black and they are the ones that pushed for the affirmative action coaching rule. If the Rooneys fire Mikey they lose face and credibility with their leftist political connections.

I don’t know about fear of losing political connections but there has already been at least one article about the firings or black HCs. It’d be a shame if they wanted to fire Tomlin, but were too afraid of how it would look and what would be said and written.

That is a fact.

Wiggy, I agree with what you said 100%. James has never, ever been a distraction prior to Tomlin flat out making promises that he didn't keep. If you had a change of heart with James then release him that summer rather than keep him on the bench or deactivate him.
The LevBell should have never gotten to the point it did. Tomlin has made a point several times of making the statement that he's going to run the wheels off these running backs. Think about that for a second. Thats a stupid philosophy to run your start running back into the ground and risk injury, wear him out come playoff time, and shorten his career. Wouldn't the best plan be to have a capable back ala La Garrett Blount and add him to the game plan as the change of pace back and to not run your feature back into the ground? No, Tomlin hardly plays Blount causing an issue where the guys walks off the field, but he goes elsewhere, plays and excel. Tomlin is to blame here.
AB, Tomlin creates monster, lets monster do whatever he wants with no accountability, hence we are where we are today with the game's best receiver. Tomlin again to blame.

I read a good article today from John Steigerwald calling out Tomlin and essentially telling him to walk away from the team because its time. He writes that Noll and Cowher knew when they had lost their edge and knew when it was their time to step down, and that Tomlin has lost any edge and should do the same. The media in PGH. is starting to see who the real problem is here and its the one constant with this team's issues, Tomlin.

I never thought Tomlin ever had a edge....etc. With all the issues....drama Tomlin should be held responsible! We've seen coaches let go over less distractions etc.

We get it. In your eyes Shades can't do any wrong. Nothing is his fault. Or if someone is at fault it's all whitey Big Ben's fault. It doesn't matter how inept Tomlin is at clock mgmt, challenges, game planning, dealing with the lockerroom, etc. It's absolutely embarrassing how ridiculous the arguments you Tomlin nuthuggers use. BTW, weren't you the dolt wbo a few years ago claimed that Shades only responsibility was dealing with the press? Or was that Antdrew?
