I really don't want to see this man who can seemingly develop anyone into an NFL caliber starter walk out the door to go be an OC/HC elsewhere which is likely coming soon...UNLESS, we were to promote him to HC. Yeah, we'd have to let somebody else go but I think most of us could get over it.

The man brings most of the qualities I like to see in HC ( he was never used properly last time )

On player development alone it would be a massive upgrade
If he knew how to not challenge the spot of a ball it would be a huge upgrade
If he knew how to stay out of a DCs way or bring in a good DC it would be a huge upgrade
If he knew to not play turtle ball and let Ben work it would be a huge upgrade-step on their throat till the clock strikes zero

These all seem like things he would be perfectly capable of, obviously I feel the current leadership has blinked and needs to be cut off

Munch doesn't want to be a head coach, not sure that has ever changed.I would be more happy HC Fitch, but we know Tommy Tom is going nowhere.

I know Tomlin goes nowhere until Ben is gone, problem is looks like the Steelers go nowhere until Tomlin is gone.

Hope Munch is content to stay in his role, but if he wanted a promotion elsewhere...I'd give him the job here quicker than I can put some shades on.

Just wishful holiday thinking after another horrid loss, and yet another wasted season.

I want Tomlin gone but i don't understand the turtle ball comment. people have been bashing the steelers for not running then when we do run its turtle ball? can't be both ways. I didn't mind the running yesterday, but the actual plays were terrible.

From Aditi Kinkhabwala's twitter last night

Tomlin isn't going anywhere. Even with the completely stupid fake punt, even with the bogus calls, we win if the players don't fumble. I wouldn't be heart broken if the Rooney's decided to go another direction, I just know it's not happening.

WTF kind of reporting is that Aditi. Please say that he knows he is going to be **** canned. Id love them to give Munch a try. He is the best teacher on the staff. Won't happen.

It was in the context of the game and it was that JuJu fumbled it.

Also, Tomlin isn't going anywhere, so who do we all want as defensive coordinator?

Won't matter, it will still be Tomlin's defense that we are making them run. That 2DL horseshit defense is all Tomlin, 110% Tomlin. No matter how much it fails, it never changes, but Tomlin has no responsibility for that though.

At this point, Coach Ray Charles sounds like a plus to me.

So if Tomlin is such a good coach and two thirds of teams would fire their coach to hire him, I wouldn't be against trading this guy for a first round pick. Lets see how good he is with a Tampa bay, Buffalo, Jets, Cards. Lets see!

I'd trade him for any draft compensation, hell if someone gave a first it could go down rivaling the Bettis trade as one of the Steeler's best. That would be beyond a Christmas miracle, it will never happen but a great dream.

It is time for a change, but the biggest problem is still having Ben playing. Would he be willing to start over at this point in his career? What if he isn’t, do you think a new coach would come in with the understanding that he hold back on making changes until Ben retires?

When Ben ACTUALLY retires, you have to make the change at that point.

I think Ben would understand a change. And would probably welcome it.

Who says you have to start over? Our offense isn't a problem. I would think any potential head coach hire would meet with Ben first things first and make certain that his plans revolve around Ben and what he feels is best for the offense. If that means keeping Fitch at OC or Munch at OL...whatever it takes to keep stability on that side of the ball. Bring in a coach that can fix the defense on day one...if that gets 20% better, we are not in the spot we are right now and have been.

I love Munch as a Coordinator and think he was a decent HC in TN, but if their past choices are any indication, they want a young, up & comer that grows in the position into their 40s+. I'm sure he is out there learning and being groomed on another NFL staff right now.

I would view Munch as a possible stop gap for the next couple years. And I would never regret the change no matter what happened. At least we tried. If he does well, as in a SB, Id give him a shot at the rebuild. If not, then I go young.
