Rogers Practicing Today

Steelers will have 21 days to decide to activate him. Not sure if he has been healthy for awhile or just getting ready.
Would be nice to have him back for NE.
 
My question is, where does he play? He won’t take spots from AB, JUJU, McDonald, Conner. Switzer has done well enough that I don’t see him losing time, and Washington plays a different position.
 
He would get on the field in 4 and 5 wide situations. Not sure how healthy is, but he could jump in front of Hunter and Washington.
 
I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that he replaces Hunter. But until McDonald is given a clean bill, who knows. Ola been designated for practice as well...so there is that musical chair.

Eli Rodgers is total garbage. Give the ball to Switzer

He'd also help depth, in case one of the top 3-4 go down (not including Washington who needs to sit the rest of this season). .

I don' think we've seen enough of him to make the conclusion that he is total garbage. Ben said he could develop into the best slot WR he ever played with.

According to what? Not saying he’s a huge upgrade over Switzer but IMO he’s a reliable target who can get open and find holes in the defense. He’s also a good route runner unlike Washington. Only knock is he’s not the fastest guy but when we are talking about the 3rd or 4th option he’s better than anyone at that point in our roster.

I like Switzer a little better. But might be interesting in 4 WR set to see him, Brown,Rogers, and Juju,
 
No need to activate him unless someone gets injured over the next couple weeks. They have been using Switzer more recently and he looks a lot better than Rogers ever did. And, you don't cut Washington at this point or you lose him. And, I doubt they cut DHB or Hunter for Rogers. Again, I only see him practicing now just in case someone gets injured.

I find it difficult to think Eli wouldn't be more productive.
 
At this point, if he's healthy he definitely gets Washington's snaps. Zero issue dropping Hunter for Rogers.
 
IDK where they are going to put him. Juju and Switzer play the slot and Eli doesn't have the size or speed to play outside the numbers.
 
Washington just hasn't panned out. Maybe he'll wake up but right now I think he is totally adrift.

All this talk of Washington like he is a bust or something kills me. He is a rookie he is not getting a lot of looks due to AB and JUJU plus Switzer. Not saying he will be good but Jesus sometimes we really act spoiled. Give him at least till next season.

I'm not giving up on him, but this deep into the season he is still struggling. It's about putting the best players on the field, I personally think Rogers is better at this point.

Lighten up Francis. All I said is that he looks lost. I didn't say anything about cutting him loose but if there is someone else in the wings who might be able to make a play, lets give them a shot.
 
I think Eli was well on his way to becoming a solid receiver before he blew his acl out.
 
It would be Eli as the second Slot. Switzer would play primary Slot, and JuJu would bump out to the Z. I'm all for that.
 
I was in Eli's corner prior to the injury but he never came close to living up to expectations that Ben and others said about him. He was serviceable, at best. Switzer has shown in the last few weeks to be as effective or better than Eli ever was. Washington is a rookie (not a bust by any stretch) that you can't try to stash somewhere and you would never cut him. The only options, as I said previously are to cut DHB or Hunter but I doubt they do that. Rogers didn't have a spot on this team heading into the season. Why would he now? I just don't see it unless someone gets injured over the next couple of weeks while he is practicing and eligible to come back.
 
I always thought eli was underrated. He was not great but he was serviceable. I think he is better than DHB and Hunter. Right now i would say switzer is a little better, but it's hard to say without seeing Eli in our current offense.

Washington is Limas 2.0.
 
Rogers is fine as long as he’s being used properly
