I’ll give him credit for cutting back on the stupid penalties but that’s about it. It’s bad enough that his tackling technique is simply to run into people but he takes terrible angles. One of the most important things a safety does is take the right angle to prevent the big play and he does it very poorly. That run to the right side yesterday should have been about a seven yard gain and his ****** angle turned it into a huge run. He also takes bad angles on pass plays all the time. Where are the coaches that should be saying something to him?

I feel like we are close to becoming a very good defense. Replacing Mitchell and finding someone to fill Shaziers giant shoes would get us there.

The guy has **** covering skills that's all there's to it. They will probably bring him back next year too.

Mitchell is always about 5 steps late in over the top help. He’s always there to attempt a tackle after the guy caught it.

He’s really bad at containing the run too. When he comes up in run support he just guesses what hole to fill. As a safety he is normally the last option to make a tackle or at least force the RB into traffic or the sideline. He does neither. He just flies into a hole and hopes to run into someone.

I still say in a perfect world we have 2 ILB's that play all world and would have kicked Shazier to S. I know he is a ILB, but still feel that if the team would have been able to move him to S he would have brought things no Safety currently does.

He freaking sucks! He is far and away the weak link on the team. I don't understand why Wilcox isn't playing over him.

Can't figure this out either. Wilcox is faster, hits well and has some ball skills. I'm still confused on this one.

He takes bad angles too.
Like his "intensity". But the team needs a new guy at that position

I thought you got the name wrong and were talking about Burns.

Burns plays corner and I really don’t have a problem with him. I feel he plays man very well. He struggles at times with zone but part of that is Mitchell also, he’s often late getting over to help. Again ****** angles. Burns is a much better player than Mitchell and he’s only in his second year.

Agreed. Mitchell needs to find a new team in 2018.

Davis was severely burned in the end zone, but the Texas 3rd string Qb overthrew an easy score.

IMO, BOTH of our safeties are weak links.

I don’t totally disagree but I think Davis has more upside. He’s in position more than Mitchell and takes a better path to the ball. If somebody could coach these guys, especially Davis at his age I think he could develop nicely. I don’t know if you blame Lake or Butler, maybe Tomlin, but our tackling especially in the secondary is really bad. Mitchell doesn’t wrap up at all and Davis rarely does. Artie is a cover corner but at least trys to wrap up. Haden is the best tackler in our secondary.

I loved Ty Carter, slow as hell but twice the play maker Mitchell is.

Hell yeah.

Tyrone was smart. One bad play against Jax really ruined his Steelers run though.
I remember his attitude in 2005 though. Always thought he was a solid safety

No Play Mitchell has been our worst starter since week 1. He does NOTHING. 2 PDs in 15 games. Those numbers might even make Coach think he's worse than Davis. Because he is.

His next play will be his first, and we need him to be aggressive and watch the receivers in his zones, instead of staring at the QB and backpedaling. His worst attribute, he's hit our defensive players more than he's defended passes. He is a liability, and needs replaced yesterday. I would have loved him being cut and calling up Dangerfield at this point. **** me..

I'm not sure if a coach can teach a player to have the desire to tackle. Neither of our starting safeties tackle well. Neither of them cover well. Neither has good ball skills. Both are dumb as rocks.

I would say Hilton is our best tackler in the secondary, with Haden being a close second.

I think Davis can bulk up a bit more.
Not sure how much it'll affect his speed. But he handled Gronk well the 1st half

You're a ********

And your a cry baby fan boy!

If you think either Mitchell or Davis are good, the floor is. We could use some comic relief as Harrison's departure to New England sucked. You'd better chance your avatar soon and hope James doesn't give away our signals and game plans to hoodie.

no dip ****.. The comment is based your your self mastubatory agenda you pour in at every opportunity. You're a ******* moronic douche.

We were pretty bad when he was hurt. Be careful what you wish for. I wouldn't disagree with drafting a replacement but I wouldn't be against giving him a 1-2 year deal to stick around while the youth develops.

On the scale of 1-100, Mitchell is a 2. Davis is in the 60s with potential to improve.

Coach thinking Davis and Mitchell are the same, isn't seeing what I am seeing on Sundays.

since we started playing Man you can see Davis with a lot of 1 on 1 assignments, he isn't getting torched, that speaks of him not being a liability in coverage
